I'm pretty sure that's the opposite of fresh, right? With that approach you're always diluting the old DEF by 50% versus replacing most of it with fresh if you just wait until it's nearly empty.
DEF has a usable shelf life of about a year so as long as your able to cycle through maybe two full-tanks worth a year doing 50% fills should be fine. I wouldn't by several DEF jugs at time though. Only buy what you need at the time and don't buy DEF that looks like it's been on the store shelf for months.

Only buy what you need at the time and don't buy DEF that looks like it's been on the store shelf for months.
I don't buy DEF jugs. It's so much easier, cheaper, and significantly fresher to simply fill up at a truck stop.
