I noticed most, not all, have the dead pedal bolted to an existing bolt on the firewall / floor. Does anyone know what this bolt is actually for or where it goes? When you take the existing nut off to install the dead pedal and new nut does the bolt stay in place after removing the existing nut and not fall through the hole?

I installed it about a week after getting the jeep. that bolt isnt going anywhere.

I wouldnt bother with a dead pedal though - I paid like 50 bucks for mine and it doesnt do anything :)
