Last month I purchased a used 2020 Wrangler unlimited to replace my 2016 one. I wanted something a little newer and with a warranty. Last week I was driving and noticed that none of my gauges were working, no speed no fuel no digital display. Took it to a dealer this week and was told my guess is as good as theirs when the new part will be in. I was told that I could drive it but just guess how fast I was going or to keep up with traffic. I’m blown away by this dealers response to me regarding this. So now I get to drive for lord knows how long without knowing how fast I’m going or how much gas I have.
I feel your pain but I don’t know what else they could say. Seems he was right up front with you and didn’t dance around the issue. He is also at the mercy of the suppliers. Other option would be leave jeep there which I say no no. I don’t know if you can but I would find out who is the supplier and see if they can give you a better answer. I would be curious as to cause and outcome.

I see you are in Pennsylvania, not sure what dealer you are using, but my experience with Courtesy Chryslers Jeep in Coatesville, Pa parts/service was awful (great purchase though). My GPS was off by about 300 miles, I brought it in and they tried to reboot the radio, and said it wouldn't work, so they pulled the fuse (so the radio rebooting wouldn't kill my battery) and told me they ordered a new radio and it should be in 4-5 days, but wouldn't commit to it given todays supply chains, which I understood. After not hearing from them for 2-3 weeks, I called and asked about it, and they said it wasn't in yet. A few weeks later they called and said it was in, I made an appointment and brought it in. When I got there they asked me if they had the part, I said someone called and said they did. They brought it into the garage, reset an unrelated check engine light, and then told me they didn't have the radio and would order a new one, and would try to put a "priority" on it. I don't know if someone ordered the part and they sent it back, or ordered the wrong radio, or never ordered one. A couple more months go by, I emailed asking for a status update, and someone called and said they never ordered the radio, and asked me to bring it in for a few minutes so they could check the radio's numbers to see which one to order. This was 3 months after I first brought it in. No radio, no radio screen, no carplay, using earbuds, for three months, it had been physically in their shop twice, and they never ordered the part. I then made an appointment with Jeff D'Ambrosio Jeep in Downingtown (much larger dealer, who actually owns Courtesy), I think it took them about a week or two to get and appointment for them to diagnose and order and replace the radio. Prior to this I was considering lift/tires/gears, but going 4 months with an incompetent dealer has made me re-evaluate putting money into the Jeep. Sure, the new dealer's service department seems much more competent, but the experience has soured me a little. And I also am getting the door hinge paint bubbles.

For what its worth, I'd rather keep and drive the Jeep with the dead dash, rather than get a loaner. A lot of dealers have fewer loaners now because they were selling them due to high used car prices. You also don't know what you will get as a loaner, it wouldn't necessarily be equivalent to what you have now could be an econobox (although free miles on their vehicle is a bonus). The dealer may not know when the new dash is coming in, but I would check with them every week or two.

Wow that is an ordeal for sure. I plan on keeping in contact with them regularly bc I have a trip coming up next month and this is going to make it a pain. This is the only dealer close to me seeing as I moved recently or I would have gone to one I used to go to before.

I think that would qualify as a major "safety" issue that if under warranty they would be required to keep the vehicle at the svc dept to ensure it stays off the road AND give you a comparable loaner until the issue is resolved one way or another. On top of that they'd need to reimburse you for car payments for lost driving time due to the vehicle sitting at the svc dept.
Call stellantis customer care.
Ask me how I know this...
Right on with what blessidsoul12 stated "safety issue". You have to advocate for yourself with regards to stealership service departments. If its under warranty and I was told that I'd tell that person to pack sand and then I'd definitely find someone in upper management to speak with as they bring my loaner for me to drive. And this is why no one trusts service departments.

Update went and picked up the Jeep, which they could not find the keys for or where it was parked. Brought it back home and started calling around to other dealerships, apparently the part was a one year only part and has been on backorder since 2021. Called the dealership where I bought it at and they are giving me a loaner BMW for an extended period of time. I then called Stellantis customer service who are putting in a incident to expedite getting the part and a specialist will be calling me back within a business day.
