Then why not the JK or JL? Aren’t they building the JT and I believe increased tow capacity with stronger axles. More truck like axles if I recall correctly. Why I’m asking about Dana 60s.

You're picking up 3000 lbs in towing capacity, however if that's not going to cut it for you, then you need to start looking at real trucks.

From an internal document:

2-door JL Wrangler Sahara (2.0L): 3880 lbs | 3500 lbs | 1045 lbs
2-door JL Wrangler Rubicon (2.0L): 4085 lbs | 3500 lbs | 1040 lbs

  • Diesel will only be available with the 4-door JLU Wrangler and Jeep Scrambler Pickup
  • Jeep Scrambler (JT) Pickup will only be available in 4-door model
  • Jeep Scrambler (JT) Pickup will be available with 3.6L Pentastar and 3.0L diesel (not 2.0L turbo)

6500 works but I'd rather see it in a Rubicon.

You can't have your cake and eat it too. You can always get a Power Wagon. Gives you some of the things that a Rubicon, sway bar disconnect, lockers, manually shifted transfer case plus a few things it doesn't 16k winch and Hemi and it can tow around 12,000lbs. You might even come off cheaper if you go that route... ;) Heck I almost bought a Power Wagon for my wife, but ended up with a regular 2500 that I later lifted and put bigger tires under, probably would have worked out cheaper had I just gone with the Power Wagon to start with. :headbang:

At that point I stay with my Durango and Hemi and don't go off road. I'll just get a Rubicon and park the boat on a lift. It is what it is. :)
