In theory replacing a damaged boot is simple. In reality (as others have experienced here), however, it's sometimes not so simple.Really? The boot can be damaged, but the CV joints are just about indestructible. The only time they fail is if the boot is damaged and you drive like that a long time. But if you are on the trail and pop the boot, you can easily make it home and replace later.
I get it, but having replaced many axle boots, I find these so much easier. I could do it in an hour. I had a subaru that cooked the axle boots and I relaced those frequently. This is nothing. Hell I may replace them tonight just for practice...In theory replacing a damaged boot is simple. In reality (as others have experienced here), however, it's sometimes not so simple.
A mere twig can cause these issues. No thanks.
