Colby is such a cute helper, Tinker and Jesse are the two in my avatar picture helping work on my Jeep. :)

Yeah I had similar problems with Clayton Steering Stabilizer relocation bracket kit. They were the only ones who did not state there was any set amount of lift required or anything else for it to work. Got it all installed, went for test drive around the block and the end of the SS tie-rod mounting bracket bolt was smacking my front cross-member right next to the plastic radiator hose connector/bracket LOL. I tried rotating it around every which way and something interfered no matter what. Emailed/called and they said huh never had that problem, so now that part sits on my shelf in it's original box...reinstalled stock for now. This was using the stock stabilizer (which I'll replace when it wears out), do NOT want to limit up travel just to relocate SS up higher. I'm excited to continue reading about how you hopefully got this to work!
Hey brother, yeah, all brands of relo brackets need to say you need 2” extra bump or a 2” lift… I’m not buying they didn’t know…….. Good news is you can install it when you put your lift on….

Gathering supplies…… a few weeks ago I found a drop of oil on the passenger side inspection plug on bell housing…..It’s just a small drop, and nothing ever hits the floor yet…. I’ve ruled out oil cooler, valve covers, pcv, etc….. The only things left is rear main, upper oil pan or this…..brought to my attention by a bud of mine John ( @jellis4148 )…..

Jeep Wrangler JL Crystal Rubi build… {filename}

This is making the most sense to me because of the path of the drip…. It never even goes over to the other inspection plug, it’s always dry as a bone….. But if I’m gonna go into that far, I wanna have a full clip…….

It’ll probably be a minute before I get to it, wanna see if it gets worse, and how long it takes to get bad enough to actually drip on the floor……. I think that the drip is worse under load, and it gets blown back on the transmission, then when I stop there’s not enough pressure to make it leak as bad…..
I don’t know, this is all theory at this point…. ✌
Curious how this goes

FWIW, mine has been leaking for years. It’s only just now started dripping more than a single drop onto the shop floor.

Mine leaked about 5 years before the tech found it because of the bulletin. We tried dye, but it wouldn’t show cause the oil had to fill up a little tray before it would drip and I didn’t wait long enough to check. First few years it would take a couple of months to accumulate enough to even make a drip. Thought it was rear main at first, but it was bone dry. This year it progressed to the point of dripping once a week. It will continue to get worse if not repaired. $1,365 cost and the part was only $25. Rest was labor. Fortunately my Zurich extended warranty was still going. Paid for itself.

Yeah, I believe it. Eventually I'll dig up the motivation to pull the trans and fix it. Mine is dripping a bit more frequently than once a week. I read through your thread about the plug, which was super helpful. I'm completely confident that my leak is coming from that plug.

After 4 techs trying to find it, I finally got a tech that knows what he is doing and he found it. Funny thing. He left it on the lift overnight and was going to put it together the next morning. He comes in and oil is all over the floor. The engine being tilted down in the back made the rear main leak so that was replaced as well.

I was fine with it being a super slow, occasional drip. But it seems to have worsened after putting a few hundred on it since it sat for 4 months during the latest stage of the build. Honestly was hoping it just stayed as a consistent slow slow drip. I'd probably have left it for life

This is where I’m at now, it’s a nuisance but can’t justify going up in it yet…having to much fun with it when I’m able to get out….

I'm leaving tomorrow to test out all the new bits on the Jeep, and hopefully a few more trips this summer depending on how mom/baby do solo for the weekend. If she says no more, then I'll probably just start tackling that. I'm sure she'll be a huge fan of me finally finishing up this build, and then letting her know that I'm dropping the transmission. Extra super cool because I just got done swapping the RPM trans xmember for a replacement. Way more fun when your lower links are attached to it!
