I'm getting 5" of air space between the backside of the tie rod and front edge of the axle tube, with the wheel turned full driver. I haven't yet trimmed the Reid knuckle steering stops, so I'm guessing it might drop to about 4.5".

So you are eliminating the ESS battery when installing new yellow top? Can you remove aftermarket liner to access? Pulling the fuse box is not that bad of a job to get it from the top.So you are eliminating the ESS battery when installing new yellow top? Can you remove aftermarket liner to access? I’ve read couple of threads on removing but is it a major pita to rewire?
Yes, eliminating aux battery, I can get to battery super easy with artec liners, but I’m gonna leave it in there for now. Just gonna unhook aux ground from main ground terminal cable and run a 40 amp fused jumper wire from N1 to N2 in the fuse box and that’s it done deal… easy, peasey…….lol.So you are eliminating the ESS battery when installing new yellow top? I’ve read both ways not too bad. I would prob just pull liner not entire flare (maybePulling the fuse box is not that bad of a job to get it from the top.

When you say drugs do you mean Jeep drugs like a dual ARB setup ?I removed mine from below, its way easier…although i have no liners lol.
