6 weeks old. We had just finished doing some off-road exploring in the Santa Rita foothills and were heading to Tucson on I-10 when a truck in the next lane to the right kicked something up. Sounded like it looks, lol.
Wellllll....there it is. I have had my Jeep a little over 2 months. I wasn't even driving it, I parked it in perfect condition. Came out this morning and poof like magic I was in the club. there wasn't even a bird turd on the windshield. I will take the jeep in to the dealer on Monday....Here is to hoping.
Giving this thread a bump! Just joined this elite class! Called my insurance to get a quote from safelight. When I got a quote for 450$ I bit my tongue.... told them I’d get back to them..... definitely was not expecting that.... think I’ll ride it out for a little... although on my way home the crack did get little bigger soooo might need to just bite the bullet. Anyone got references in the Sothern CA OC area I would be much obliged
After a 1 1/2 years with a cracked windshield I finally replaced it, not because of the crack I could live with it even though it ran across half my window, but the pitting had gotten so bad I couldn't see at all driving into the sun. $219 w/mil discount, I went with the non OEM there is no way I would pay $200+ more for the sticker and my only concerns about Gorilla Glass is I am not sure if it will help with the pitting, I read somewhere it is a softer glass which makes me think that it would pit easier.
Rrrrr just joined the club today. Random crack just appeared for no reason while driving (no impact evidence). Only 2 months old (3500 miles) :/ my question is I have the advanced safety group/adaptive cruise control. Anything special need to be done for the windshield replacement? Gonna call my dealer I’m the morning.
Joined the club last week. Attempted a repair first, it didn’t come out well, it should have. I suspect either wrong equipment or tech error. Regardless, it was replaced this morning. Tech was very efficient, took just over 20 minutes. No discussion over OEM or aftermarket glass, right up front they advised me it would be OEM. 9,000 miles and a week short of one year since delivery.
