Coolant leak

These small diameter spring clamps are weak, can't be tightened. Easy for robots to install.

I understand, would you recommend the type we have on our air intake? If you could link me to the type you recommend I would be hugely appreciative

Have you been monitoring your coolant temp? Those fitting shouldn't leak under normal circumstances and normal pressure. If your coolant is getting too hot it will increse pressure which could cause it to leak through the fittings.

Had something similar happen to me over the weekend. I went through some mud and got mud in my radiator, among other things. This caused my jeep to overheat.

At one point when I opened the hood it was steaming and there was a faint smell of engine coolant. There was wet mud on the engine so I thought most of the steam was coming from that. I did check the coolant level and it was fine at the time, with the hot engine. I had a lot of shit going on so I didn't look for coolant leaks.

Now with the engine cooled, the coolant level is clearly a little below what it should be.

You may want to keep a close eye on your coolant temps. The temp guage has a very wide range before it will start rising above the normal range. On my way home this weekend after my troubles I mentioned my coolant temp ranged from 220 to 225 and got up to 230 (ambient temp was in the low 60s) a couple times, but the temp guage never rose above the normal level.

On Sunday I spent about three hours with a garden sprayer directly on the inside of the radiator. There was a LOT of mud in there that was blocking airflow in about 25% of the radiator.

Yeah, it was fun at the time. Now I'm hoping replacing my clutch is my worst case scenario.

Normal hose clamp just get the proper size something like this. A solid band is better compared to a band with slots. This was on Autozone
