You don't need the original black reservoir. You can snag the normal see-through reservoir out of a 3.6L and it'll work fine.

Why the fuck is it a black reservoir anyway? It even has a dipstick ffs. What was wrong with a normal see through one like in every other model we produce? Supplier nonsense, surely.
Might sound a little silly but any tips for adding coolant back once i reinstall it? I know it’s a problem if too much air gets in the lines (at least i think)

I’ve thought the same. I did wonder if the black plastic is supposed to be for higher ambient temp life/heat cycles? If so…big fail on that one.

If it’s the same procedure as the 3.6, it’ll just take some patience and constant attention for a while. You’ll need to use the dipstick on the cap if you get another black plastic reservoir, what the 2.0 comes with stock.

I did a video that does include my refill of the cooling system. Don’t let the title throw you off. I had to remove a lower radiator hose. Skip to near the end.

Yup, should work just fine. I haven't personally swapped the two on a vehicle, but visually they are identical.

Thank you! Last thing, what coolant do you recommend?

I’m curious to see how the clear reservoir handles the heat directly above the turbo. Def keep us posted. If it holds up like normal I’ll consider swapping over to it as well.

Update: the 3.6 doesn’t work in the 2.0… the hose faces a different way and gets blocked by the brake booster. It’s leaking from the seams… gonna try to JB weld it and hope for the best

Just order a new one and install it whenever you get the change. JB weld doesn’t hold pressure worth a shit.

I've seen it hold about 2 weeks on an old Lexus radiator. Surprised it held that long but correct, it's a very short term fix if you're lucky that it holds at all.

Part 68364312AC? Order it online for around $54 plus $15 for shipping and it will arrive in about a week.

I tried but those aren’t oem parts and have horrible reviews online. Heard they leak a ton so didn’t want to throw away $70. Unless you know a good aftermarket brand let me know please!! Appreciate your help though!
