With all this discussion about the dealer using the wrong amount for an oil change, I decided last night to check the oil level (200 miles on the vehicle), sure enough it is overfilled where it slightly exceeds the the top range mark of the dips stick (cold engine). I will remove some of the oil before driving it again.
my dealer did the same , I just do not care anymore , if this vehicle fails me I will dump it and get Toyota : )

So then I'm outside on the phone and I see one of the techs get in my Jeep and pull her in to the bay. I intercept him in the office and I asked him "How many quarts of oil does the JL engine take?" to which he replies "Depends on which engine" to which I reply "The 3.6L" and he says "I think it takes 6 quarts" to which I reply "No, it takes 5 quarts" to which he replies "Oh, well we always check the computer anyway, but I'll make sure." About a half hour later they pull my Jeep out of the bay. So I go over to Ms. Oilchange (Lisa still) to be checked out and I ask her "How many quarts of oil did they put in?" So she looks on her computer and I guess they hadn't finished inputting their service "stories" so she goes out to the service area and comes back in with a quart of 0w20 motor oil in her hand and says "Yeah, they only put 5 quarts in but FCA's system still says to put in 6 quarts for the JL Wrangler 3.6L engine, I have to credit this back to FCA" and then she says "Thanks for telling us about that, it avoids a lot of problems" to which I replied "Yeah, I don't like to be the a-hole but it's a very common issue."
