Has anyone had this problem come back? The replaced my front (left and right) bearing assemblies and everything was good but now I think I can hear some clicking again. I will keep listening to see if it's associated with low speed turning but I really hope I'm imagining this

EDIT: Also any tips for making sure the service department actually listens when you tell them to go ahead and tighten the ball joints to these specs? I feel like they just say "Yea ok we'll look at it" and then go do whatever they want

Check the cotter pins to see if they are moved or replaced and not in the exact same position. You can’t tighten the ball joint nut without removing that pin

Pull the cotter pins out of the lower ball join and tighten the nut about a half then. Click will go away. Replace the cotter pin

35 ft/lbs is an amount you can achieve without even using a large ratchet. That's not much torque at all. Which tells me that the lower ball joints are not supposed to be as tight as you can get them, and clicking noises are probably not coming from ball joint torque.

Problem fix! It was the shocks nuts/bolts that was not tighten propreply on the shocks relocator from (2inch rubicon express spacerlift), they test drive it and no more clicking snapping sound, im picking it up tonight to re-test drive

Hey Command Line RC,

Keep us updated on your dealer visit. As you may have seen throughout the thread, our team is available via private message and would be glad to help in any way we can.

Here's my response. I took it to the dealership, they wouldn't look at the ball joints because I put my own lift on. When I got home, I took the wheels off and tightened my upper and lower ball joints...a 35 minute job.....no more clicking. I really don't understand what you all do besides speak to us in a private message. In my experience, their always seems to be this disconnect between you guys and the dealerships.

The dealer just called me and said they identified the clicking sound when turning left and its hub bearings. Parts have been ordered and hopefully that will fix it.

Hopefully this fixes it for you but I took my Jeep in and they replaced both left and right bearing assemblies and it seemed good for like a month and now I think the clicking is back...

Torque your lug nuts. They also may be loose.

Check the torque on the lug nuts or ball joints? I live in an apartment building so I don't have as much room to work on my Jeep as I'd like so checking the ball joint torque is probably out for me...

Here I am again with the problem like you guys. I feel like im spending more time researching the problem with my jeep than actually enjoying it. Just notice Clicking noise in parking lot left and right turn. Taking this to dealer again. So many many problems.

My JL has less than 3000 miles. Been at dealer going on 5 weeks now. Replaced hubs, front axle and all kinds of other items. They can’t get clicking to stop. They want to bring in an engineer and sign off that vehicle is safe with the clicking sound since they can’t find the source. I’ll mention the ball joint and see their response and update if it fixes. Hard to believe Jeep hasn’t put something out on this as a bulletin.
