I went with the Anvil Overland mount and am really pleased about it. Everything is steel and what I like about it is that it doesn't use the little extension bars from the actual mount to the device holder, so it eliminates some chance of vibration.

Also, the mounts can be placed anywhere along the full length of the bar, which goes from passenger to driver grab handle. Very solid.

Wow, that is a clean solution! I am wondering how I can justify changing to it!

The only negative I've found so far with the Anvil mount is that it's really expensive by the time you buy the bar, clamps and device holders.

But, I wanted the cleanest, most versatile and sturdiest solution for my ordered Jeep that I just received and this fit my criteria.

Buy once, cry once.

Do you know the diameter of the bar? I am hoping to reuse all of my current mounts. It looks like the bar sizes are the same.

Timely thread. Just this morning I ordered the following: https://www.bulletpointmountingsolu...avigation-with-iphone-and-android-smartphones
Odd that it now states that it is "sold out" on their website.
I ordered the BulletPoint mounts and I like them. The only issue I have is the rubber protector pad on the inside of the phone holder keeps sliding down. I'm guessing it is because of the heat coming through the windshield melting the adhesive. I'm going to try some Gorilla Glue and see if that holds it. It seems to be on the sliding side of the mount. Other than that, I like the look and the fact that I can get separate holders for different things.

I have a MLC-6 style switch panel in the center of the dash so I had to get the 4XE style mount but everything bolted in fine and works.

Personally, I still think the Quadlock connector:

With the matching phone case is one of the cleanest methods I've seen. I have one ready to go in my Jeep order.

I think I figured out the cleanest way to mount a phone. It uses the Proclip Magnetic Mount combined with these Metal Magnetic Rings to hold your phone in any angle. You can slide the proclip mount from left to right of the radio. I have the USB plugged into the 12v with the cable tucked behind the plastic knee panel. You can put the metal ring on the back of your phone or inside your phone case. I've been driving around spiritedly with this for a few weeks now and it has never fallen off. I finally took the plunge on wireless qi charging mounts, because I got tired of trying to plug my phone in, BUT I knew how strong magnet mounts are from having the meaty part of my finger tip getting pinched from previous magnet mounts. Sometimes I feel like I'm forgetting something before I drive off, because I have been plugging my phone in for years.

Could you please show photos or be more descriptive of how you wired this and what panels you hid the wires under?

I have run into the same issue with the rubber pad you have mentioned. I think it is from me sliding my phone out on that side as I remove it. It places a lot of sliding pressure on that pad...2X of more times per day. Let me/us know how your fix works. I was pondering something similar. THX!

Define "cleanest". Some of these solutions look like the frame from a 1950s Birdcage Maserati. :)
I guess I think of cleanest as simplest and barely noticable.

Most of it is from 67d.com but the mag-safe is an off brand from Amazon. Just waiting on my Jeep no install it. Planning on having a 5 port usb hub mounted under it to plug devices into.

I like your setup. Can you post the link for the magsafe mounts? I want to do something very similar.

Thanks.
