My son had the Jeep at college and I get an email from Jeep saying there's a problem with the charging system. I think nothing of it and think it's probably the Aux battery finally going. I head up to his college the following morning and he calls me and tells me there is a check engine light on and he has lost all power. I finally get to him and the Jeep to find a broken belt. I had no clue how it would break the belt so I had it towed to my local shop at home. After further inspection I noticed that the A/C compressor pulley wasn't sitting straight and lining up with the other pulleys. There is a stud on the back side of the compressor that threads into the block. That stud was gone and I have no clue how it worked its way out if it was even there. The A/C compressor also has two bolts mounted to the oil filter housing that got cracked with all the torque from the belt. Now trying to find the oil filter housing is even harder. It's on national backorder to the middle of October. This Jeep has been great and I will continue to run this thing. Jeep has 66k mines on it.
I'll try to get some pictures next time I'm at my Jeep. #3 and #4 missing in picture.
