Thru a number of dual battery threads there has been much discussion and seems to have been quite a lot of knowledge shared.
My question relates to the alternator. Maybe it's a dumb question. Maybe it's been asked?
Does the charging system/alternator work fine with an AGM battery for example? I believe the heavy hitter batteries are all AGM. Aren't they finicky to charge without smart charging technology? Perhaps the new Jeeps have that technology? Perhaps it doesn't matter?
Whatchu sharp electrical guys have to say.
Thanks,
Vic

Plug your cord(from the engine block heater) into a Tesla charging station.

I do it all the time...works like a charm.

I have no idea as this question is beyond the scope of my knowledge.

I will say that these guys will likely know very well: both with their dual battery system and factory only setup.

The JL’s have an intelligent battery sensor (IBS) that regulates voltage coming from the alternator. So if the voltage shown on your dash is bouncing around 12.8 to 14.2 while driving, the IBS is doing it’s job.

Even with the Genesis dual battery setup, it will behave the same. I’ve had mine in for a couple of weeks now. Works like a charm and no more aux. battery failure anxiety.
