Totally false, literally everything you said. I have a May 2018 build and have not completed any recalls around the clutch, there are only two recalls, and my vehicle recall page only shows one. I can take a pic and post here if you would like.No the Jeep that burnt to the ground was before the recall that added limp mode. There have been 3 or 4 recalls on the clutch since the JLs inception. Your comparison of tires to the limp mode safety feature is ridiculous.
Sorry, I guess I haven’t read every thread on here. The point is the limp mode won’t affect anyone unless there is something significantly wrong with their clutch.Totally false, literally everything you said. if we are talking about the lady with her two dogs for the burning jeep, it was 100% after dealership worked on her jeep and did the recall. I posted in that thread, read it fully. her jeep worked fine before she took it to dealership, and caught fire the day after.
Yeah totally, and for me, I haven't done either recall because they are both crap (for me). Including the engine limp software flash. especially for the lady, the dealership clearly screwed up her clutch, and if performed by the dealership, the heat detection limp mode never kicked in for her. Here’s my post in the other thread with my full perspective.Sorry, I guess I haven’t read every thread on here. soo, now there is another part that needs to be installed? I thought the CF clutch kit included new hoses. What is this part now? Geez, this clutch fix is getting expensive.Throw out bearings/slave cylinders are very specific to the application. The front of the transmission where the input shaft is needs to have threaded mounting holes to attach this style slave. This is what I have on my Dakota but it was swapped to a Viper T56. The entire hydraulic system is now Viper specific. The stock Jeep TO bearing uses that yoke shaped lever and does not use threaded mounting holes in the face of the transmission. There might be an adapter plate included, not sure. Mine just uses a spacer to get the distance to the pressure plate correct but it uses the same bolts that the TO bearing does. I can't tell a huge difference between the shaft mounted slave cylinder vs the one mounted outside the tranny but this setup uses a pilot bearing in the crank unlike the Jeep and was not subject to this kind of clutch failure.
No I think that new part is optional, and the CF2 kit I have does come with new hydraulic unit/hose, someone smarter than me can tell you exactly what the new hose does, but I'm sure its an upgrade from the OEM...soo, now there is another part that needs to be installed? Yeah I only see it for a Camaro on the CF website, nothing for the JLI really doubt that CF will offer this hydraulic throw-out bearing for our Jeeps. We are lucky to get these new CF kits today.

Exactly, I see it for the T56 / 6-speedYeah I only see it for a Camaro on the CF website, nothing for the JL
That's what I have on my T56 Dakota. All Viper stuff also fits the firewall for master cylinder and the clutch pedal linkage as well. Probably won't get that lucky with the Wrangler and there is a custom spacer usually involved to make the TO bearing work with the PP correctly. I think this style would help with the offset clutch wear as another poster mentioned, axial movement rather than a lever style pivot.Exactly, I see it for the T56 / 6-speed
I agree the recalls don’t accomplish much at all. But if you have the recalls done and the thing grenades, you may have a better chance of FCA compensating you.Yeah totally, and for me, I haven't done either recall because they are both crap (for me). now, that’s just me, I’m not saying not doing the recalls is for everyone, especially those with kids and pets who ride in the jeep. I would do the heat detection and engine limiter, it only kicks in if the computer does a bunch of math, vehicle speed, wheel speed, etc to try and determine if the clutch is slipping.
That and the possibility of insurance trying to deny you a claim because you ignored recall notices.I agree the recalls don’t accomplish much at all. But if you have the recalls done and the thing grenades, you may have a better chance of FCA compensating you.
