Received a check engine light and alert on dash saying service def system required. Took to the Jeep dealership and they’re telling me it’s not covered under the powertrain or emissions warranty since there’s corrosion on the connectors they’re trying to make me pay for the repair. This doesn’t seam right. What are your thoughts @JeepCares

That’s covered, your dealership is trying to scam you.

That’s what I think. The corrosion turned on the check engine light and the dash said service DEF system. How is this not emissions warranty related? They just text me this:

“Hi Jeremy, just wanted to let you know that everything was looked into, including a discussion with the warranty admin, and unfortunately, corrosion isn’t something that’s covered under the powertrain warranty. There’s not really any leeway on that. The Jeep is all finished and ready for pickup. If you’d like to reach out to Chrysler before picking it up to see if there’s anything they can do, feel free to do so. Just let us know what you decide.”

I caved and paid the $269 for dielectric grease on a part that corroded in 2 years 7 months/43k miles. I don’t have any other transportation. It wasn’t the cost. More principal. Are they going to use the corrosion excuse for everything when warranty issues arise?
It’s so good to have back. I absolutely love driving this jeep.
