We're finding conflicting info:
Official 2018+ Jeep OE torque spec for the diff cover bolts for the M186, M210, M220 is 30ft-lbs.
-The only difference listed is for the M186, they say torque to 12 ft-lbs, then torque to 30 ft-lbs.

Official Dana torque for the M210 is 28-33ft-lbs.

BUT as @missionale stated, recommended bolt torque vales for an 8.8 M8 bolt is lower.

I've reached out to Dana for clarification.
I have these also on my Jl. My question is how much oil and what plug to fill up to front and back

I'm no expert, but my understanding is that these are the same volume as stock and so you should look up which axle you have and use that amount. There are two holes because you might also have a lift which would change the angle so they give you a second higher hole incase you can't get enough in using the lower one. The front diff in mine doesn't have that much fluid in it.

My guess would be the factory bolts that Mopar spec'd for 30 lb/ft are Metric 10.9. The hardware being supplied with the aftermarket Dana covers is 8.8 which fails below the Mopar torque spec.

Well. Looks like I just snapped one of the fasteners on mine. Anyone get a straight answer for what torque spec is supposed to be for these? It yielded well under 30 ft/lbs. Going to call Dana in the morning but was curious what everyone else went with. Kind of a bummer that they supply no instructions for these if it really is a different spec than OE.

I would go 20lbf-ft
These look like they may be stamped as 10.9 but it’s basically illegible. Metallurgy feels different from OE at a glance. But I’ll be sticking to 20 lb/ft after I fight this out of the housing.

Had the covers off of my first JL often and never had this issue.

they certainly don't appear to be quality fasteners.
Unfortunately there are plenty of counterfeit fasteners in circulation.

'LE' is the manufacturer's stamp. (legit)
The lower bolt should have one also, but it doesn't. (suspect)

Sorry for the delay in answering. Just saw the notification and reread this post.

The fluid capacity specs that Motobilt had listed are correct for the various JL/JT axles:

As far as with the Dana aftermarket covers, the only info I could find was the spec sheet that comes with the Ultimate Dana 44 axles. Which states to fill to the top hole on initial fill and to the bottom hole for service fills.

Dana never has answered me on correct bolt torque with their cover bolts. As per the 10.9 markings on the bolt heads, it should be in that 30 ft-lb range, but with seeing people snap them in that range, dropping bolt torque to 8.8 values would probably be a safer bet.

Good timing, I’m about to put this in the rear. I also ordered from NR4x4. I’ll check threads against factory and keep it to 20 ft-lbs.

I put these on about 2 years ago. Rubi front and rear. XR with factory 4.56 gears and no issues on long trips with Amsoil 75-90.

If I was going to spend nearly $300 bucks on a differential cover I would spring the extra bucks for some ARB fastner if they were not provided, (or at least some grade 8 replacements)

Think about it, you have an armored heavy duty cover with light duty bolts? Doesn't make much sense!

I had proper high grade fasteners in my Dana/Spicer covers.

My m186 Dana cover came with the exact same size bolts as OEM, but the cover is 1/8" thicker so thinking about getting 1/8" longer bolts before I install, just because I'm nuts (pun intended). The bolts don't look as good of a quality as OEM, to be honest; another reason for buying some high-quality replacements.
