I have been very lucky and CarPlay had stopped working so I removed the phone and then reinstalled it and it’s working since so hope I have continued luck, I wish CarPlay worked over Bluetooth

That worked for a little bit for me and then it went back to the same problem

Just had my Media Hub replaced and that fixed the issue. I believe this is a common problem!

I took mine to the dealership for this. They identified there is a problem but just said "there are no uconnect updates yet". It basically felt like they acknowledged the problem but didn't want to do anything to do with it.

Sounds like the same info they gave me for the rattling in the Soundbar. They acknowledged there was rattling and said it was normal.

I too am having CarPlay issues. My Uconnect can detect my iPhone perfectly fine as an "iPod". I can play music from it with no issues, but it absolutely won't open CarPlay. I picked up my JLUR yesterday and it hasn't worked once.

So far I've tried using three different lightning cables (one of which was an OEM one), adding phone to bluetooth, removing phone from bluetooth and adding it again, trying different USB ports. So weird.

Hi miller210,

We're sorry you're CarPlay and navigation are not working properly. Have you checked to see if your system is ready for an update? You can check https://www.driveuconnect.com/support/software-update.html to make sure. If you're still having trouble, you can send us a private message with your VIN and we will be more than happy to escalate this to our Uconnect team for additional troubleshooting.

Well, add myself to the list of carplay issues. Picked up my JLUR about 3 weeks ago and carplay stopped today. I have tested two different cables, two different iphones and all 3 usb ports. I'm running the 8.4 screen.

Also having trouble with Auto Play. CarPlay seems to work OK. This is the main reason I spent $1000 on the tech upgrade. Will try software updates.

Picked up my new 2dr Rubi yesterday. Vehicle was ordered and built in The last month. Software for radio seems to be up to date.

Didn’t think to check CarPlay before I left the dealer. Unless I’m missing something it’s not working. All USB ports work for charging and playing media but I can’t seem to get Apple CarPlay working. I have an iPhone X that is up to date. Siri is turned on on my phone and works when I click the steering wheel button.

Is there a setting I’m missing?

Julie and @JeepCares,

At what point does this become a recall or TSB?

For issues like this where many of us are having the same problems, we of course know the masses are also having the same problems (we’re a small fraction of all JL owners).

Can’t wait for the TSB to come out for this with a fix so dealers know what to do when we go in.

Same with the speaker issues in the front :)

Thanks!

I have a 2018 Charger with the same problems you all have reported (my JLUR is on order). Took it in in July for an update and it’s better but still crashes. ...smaller crash....mild fender bender. I use Navigation a lot, now the screen will go blank but the system doesn’t shut down.
It seems to work best if I leave the phone alone or just use apps supported in Uconnect. I feel it also works better if I shut the car off and open a door to shut the system off before unplugging the phone.

Asked my brother about the kinds of issues he may be having having with Apple Car Play in his 2016 Honda, all I got was a puzzled look. “Problems? No, no problems I just plug my phone in and it’s works, love it.”
