I can relate to dealership shenanigans; FYI...I built my Rubicon online and the dealership ordered the wrong tires. Then they blamed me for putting in the wrong information until I showed them the order. Then they said my tires weren't available any longer. Then when I found them online, they only ordered four and forgot the spare. Meanwhile, I made multiple trips back an forth to their service center watching woke CNN in their customer waiting room. And I could go on and on...

Once again, I stand corrected. I only did it this way when I removed mine when I replaced it with a Genesis dual battery set up. Maybe that's what I'm thinking.
The fuse box (PDC) does need to be fully disconnected and removed to allow installation of the Genesis battery kit. I confirmed that requirement directly with one of the brand's employees.

Removing the PDC to gain access to the ESS battery is optional, though, and not explicitly recommended. In that instance, pulling the fender liner out a bit is the accepted and safer approach. 👍

So I'm sitting in the waiting room at the dealer to get my aux battery checked and replaced under warranty. Service manager comes out and tells me they're going to have to charge me to take the aftermarket fender flare extensions off before they can get in the fender well to check the battery. I said what aftermarket extensions are you talking about and he said the ones you put on the outside of the fender flare. I said those aren't aftermarket, they come from the factory on the XR model. He says no they don't. When I was insistent that they do he said well I will have to go look that up. Just so happens there's a Rubicon XR sitting in the showroom. So I point and say right there is a Rubicon XR that has the same thing. Now go fix my fucking Jeep 😂
Did everyone at the dealership clap?

I did not move on to a different dealership. Over the years I insisted on sticking with one particular service writer at the closest dealer. He knows that I know my stuff with 3 Jeeps. Relationships in business can smooth a lot of crap out.
This. I traded in my 2006 Wrangler so the dealership could sell it to one of the service writers in their shop. It warmed my heart to see how excited she was to own my beloved previous vehicle. I will always go through her now.

Something similar happened top me. I took my jeep in because the sway bar links were not connected to the sway bar, I mean there were no nuts on them. The front end of my Jeep was shaking. The service manager told me that because I had swapped out the steering damper and the front shocks this would not be covered by warranty. I told him that I hadn't but he insisted. After a couple days of fighting and talking to the dealership manager they determined that indeed the steering damper and the front shocks were stock. If they ended up changing the sway bar lengths and the steering damper which they determined was bad. I taking my Jeep to the dealership I am so glad it is no longer in warranty and I can take it wherever I'd like. That is of course if it's not something I can do myself
