You could buy an after market locker, then use the zautomotive harness to use your factory switches with it
i definitely could...

Why would you spend that kind of money replacing the factory locker? Get an ARB and be done with it. Also you’re going to replacing parts on the regular bouncing on those factory axles.

Just know that the ARB for the Rubicon is a 246, not a 245. The To use a n ARB locker on the Rubicon, it will require you to upgrade your axle shafts to 35 spline.

I am going through this right now. An off road shop sold me the wrong ARB locker. I discovered this after I had it installed and was in putting the axles back in. The passenger axle shaft would not seat as the center line.

I'm having a problem getting a front locker. They pulled the numbers for these components from the Mopar parts sites. My shop has a front locker for me. Since there is some possibility they damaged mine, so they are willing to part out a whole front axle for me. But yeah, it sucks that 5 years after they introduce a model, they don't have parts for it. In another 5 years, they aren't legally obligated to continue to support the vehicle at all.

I haven't found either a factory locker or aftermarket for the rubicon, other than the ARB which needs new axles.

I'll tell you, as soon as I no longer want to rock crawl, this vehicle goes down the road. I've owned it nearly 5 years and it has been frustrating as hell, from the poor quality to the lack of parts availability. Frankly, I never took it in to a dealer for anything other than the new steering box TSB. I just fixed everything myself on my nickel.

the break in question at 4:53

I am surprised you broke as you were not getting hard traction so you had a lot of wheel spin.

Remember you have not done Mickey's Hot Tub until you drive thru then turn around and go back the same way you came.

I think Eaton and ARB make lockers for you Jeep....

Why not?

the factory stuff has lasted a lot of bouncing and towing and all the switches, lights and feedbacks work as intended.

bouncing on two wheels at 5k rpms in second gear isnt the norm...

I do believe the "Devil's Bathtub" and Mickey's Hot tub are one in the same, if not then where are they both. I have led runs up in Moab for years and never heard of the Devil's BathTub or Hot Tub

I think it's rad that the 2024 Willys now comes with a rear locker but scratch my head that they offer it considering that there continues to be a shortage of locker parts.

I just returned the ARB locker to the off road shop yesterday. They took it back with no hassles thank god as I was sure there would be some hassle involved in returning the ARB locker that had been installed and removed from the axle housing.

They were so cool about it, that I had them just credit my account and they will order the Tom woods axle for me when my one ton axle comes in.
