My new to me 2020 JLU lived life in Canada before I bought it in Oct 2024.

I'd like to know how old the battery is...

I'm not seeing a date on it anywhere.

Can anyone help me figure out how old it is? I suppose I could call the number listed, but I don't have any of the paperwork (from previous owner).

Thanks in advance.

It's not a factory battery, so it's been replaced at some point. So the age is probably okay. It might be bad for other reasons - you can get it tested at an auto parts store

It is not showing any sign of going bad, but now-a-days they never do. I am attempting to figure out it's age because if it is the original I am probably on "borrowed time" with it.

It's reasonable of me to assume @GrayMatterJeep that you seek its age as a surrogate the extent of its useful remaining life, right?

Towards that end, would not load testing the battery be the most accurate measure?

If you take this route, and you have a dual AGM battery JL, do disconnect the two batteries before load (not multimeter) testing it or else you risk an inaccurate composite 2 battery load test.

Hit me back if you need to know how to temporarily isolate the 2 batteries. :)

That’s a battery from a Canadian Tire. Like someone else said, call and see if they can tell you when it was bought by giving them the serial number. Sometimes the date is on the side of the battery somewhere as well.

I called the number on the battery. Apparently the number was for the roadside assistance number, so they forwarded me to the Battery division.

They said I could stop by a store... um, I live in a different country, unknown hours away.

After 5 minutes of keyboard clicking he was not finding it. I said since the battery is still doing okay, it is not a big thing... I am just curious when to start getting concerned about getting stranded, like on a looong off grid trip.

Thanks everyone.

Give some thought to purchasing and carrying a lithium jump start pack, if you don't already have one. I use and recommend the Antigravity Micro-Start, but there's any number of brands and price points to choose from.

Cruise Amazon to get the lay of the land before clicking Buy Now.
