I have been trying to figure out, the number of batteries I have on my Jeep (2019 Jeep Wrangler unlimited) 2.0 turbo ESS. Any information will be appreciated.

From the owners manual there are 2 on the ESS non e-Torque motor. There is your main battery then there is a smaller one behind the passenger wheel well (behind the main battery). So be careful if doing electrical work as the system is charged if one or both batteries are still hooked up.

FCA has changed the engine spec enough that I get confused.

that said, I seem to recall that a 2019 2.0T was only offered with etorque (and the 48v battery). I also recall that the 2.0T was offered as a non-etorque ESS starting in 2020, but you could get the etorque on the Sahara?

so, if you have the 2019 2.0, I think that you have a standard car battery under the hood and a larger battery tucked below the frame. You can check to see if you have that.... there will be cooling lines running to it.

of course I could be quite wrong In my recollection.

Thanks guys. Dumb hillbilly here. So I guess, with the e-torque there is the big battery under the Jeep and the battery under the hood with no auxiliary battery close to firewall?

yes dual battery 48voltsystem under the passengers seat outside the jeep ( e-torque ) and if not then you have the ESS with just the main 700CC battery and the aux under the fuse box in the passenger wheel well

Correct.

ess = main battery + a small “motorcycle” battery below the fuse box (get to it by removing front passenger fender)

2.0 etorque = main battery + 48v battery under the Jeep (about under the rear seat, I think) with cooling lines running to it.

2.0 ESS same as ess above but, as I said, I don’t think that this was an option for 2019. Only the etorque

Can he have a 2019 2.0 without etorque?

I assume as big as the key fob is you can use it to jump start the jeep in an emergency....

Yeah! That key fob is so freaking huge...if it stops working you can call Roadside Assistance and FCA will send a tow truck to pick it up...
