Check the spreadsheet in my sig before committing. The delta between that '23 and a custom-ordered '24 might not be as significant as you'd expect.

Also make sure to test drive it and an automatic. Don't simply assume (like I foolishly did) that a manual would be more performant.

I'd pay cash so no loan preapproval is necessary. Dancing off the Carmax lowball is a great idea. Thanks!
Keep everyone posted the balls in your court, most Jeep dealers right now are drowning in inventory and 8-9% financing costs on floor plan adds up every month!

The price is now 18% under MSRP. Would asking for 25% off be unreasonable? How about 30% off?
I payed 10% under invoice for my 2018 JLUR fully loaded. The worst is they say no

Spotted a 23 Jeep Wrangler 4-Door Sport MSRP $36825, asking price $29574.
I haven't seen a sub $30k JL in a long while
Gladiators are known to be offered for close to 30% off.
I phoned them and the truck is still there.
You're all over the map here.

For the sake of clarity, you want to bid on the four-door Wrangler? That's a JLU, whereas the two-door version is the JL and the Gladiator truck is a JT.

Yes, make an offer that suits your requirements, and see how the dealer responds. ?

if you never ask the answers always NO, who cares about "insulting" them, they are in the business of selling steel, they are paying floorplan on that unit every month. Offer them $25,000....never know
It's amazing to me how few people understand floor plan financing. Not only is the dealer paying for the financing, but it's advance rate on it's floorplan for that unit is likely declining as the vehicle becomes "aged" inventory because the lender knows that will affect the ultimate sales price. That means that the amount that they can borrow against the vehicle under the floorplan is declining so that they have to pay off part of the floorplan as the vehicle ages on their lot. They.want.it.gone.

100% correct and we all know Jeep/Dodge dealers are having one hell of a time as sales have dropped off the map yet the banks still need to be paid $$$$

Sorry I must have made it more clear: Is the consensus here is that the dealer's offered price is so great already that any further haggling is just insulting, or can the deal be improved upon further? Even for the cheapest truck in existence.
how do you actually insult a dealer?

This thread reminds of a sale I once had where we finally got to an agreed number and he had a unbuyable 475 credit score. Wasted an entire Saturday.

No what's really insulting is when you have 800+ credit scores and they still want to slap you with an 8% interest rate.

Do they still copy the driving license and run credit check while you are test driving? Even if you tell them not to.

It’s also a year old Jeep. IF it’s an “actual” price it’s not a bad deal-beware of “extras” like paint or seat “protection” that’s “ required”. If it sounds “too good to be true” it usually is. Some scuzzy dealers will run bargain prices only to have “sold” it right before you get their, then try the switch and bait thing. Buyer beware.

Spotted a 23 Jeep Wrangler 4-Door Sport 6MT with manual locks/windows and no options whatsoever (just the way I like it, aside from missing the LSD) sitting on the dealer lot for 7 months. MSRP $36825, asking price $29574. Would it be reasonable to push them lower without sounding insulting? On one hand I haven't seen a sub $30k JL in a long while, on the other Gladiators are known to be offered for close to 30% off. It is not apple to apple comparison, or is it? Thanks!
Just be careful with them. All that matters is the OTD price with all the add ins or mark ups after the fact. If that’s the legit price u should have got it yesterday if u wait you’ll regret it

Dealer policy will determine the answer to your question.

I've willingly provided my driver's license if the dealer sends potential buyers out on solo test drives. I've no objection to that approach.

If the salesman accompanies me on the drive, he gets just my first name and a handshake. Add'l. personal info is provided only if I decide to do business with them.
