What does KZ mean? Thank you for helping me understand.Yes. A build sheet means your vehicle was already build, once kz it will gets window sticker.
I went back and forth between hardtop and SOT. Wife already has a Jeep with hard top that we could remove if we desire. Because of that I went with SOT and now I’m really excited for my decision. Should be picking up my 392 late next week if things stick to schedule. That is nice to know- so if I get this one and hate sky one touch, I can remove and install a traditional freedom hardtop?
Perry, check out the first post of this thread here, it will explain pretty much all you need to know about codes and the Jeep order-through-delivery process: https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/fo...er-build-tracking-and-delivery-process.54344/What does KZ mean? Thank you for helping me understand.
It may have changed but when I ordered mine earlier this year not all dealers had allocations for the 392, I don't know that they ever opened it up to all dealers. That's what the OP was talking about a 392.Well this post somewhere got away from the topic, Allocations. Since all dealers have allocations, if your order is 3 months down the road then you are probably into another months allocations for that dealership.
Dealers can place orders even without allocations, there's just no guarantee the order will be scheduled. It may have changed but when I ordered mine earlier this year not all dealers had allocations for the 392, I don't know that they ever opened it up to all dealers. The sky one touch option started when he said he found one available that had a build sheet already.
I guess what I meant was those dealers that were given allotment in the beginning were able to order more than they were allocated and they were picked up. Those that were not given any allocations for the 392 to my knowledge were not allowed to just place orders and have them picked up. (one tried for me) This was my experience when I ordered mine as I spoke to many dealers about it, but not sure if it was opened up to those who never had any allocated at all.Dealers can place orders even without allocations, there's just no guarantee the order will be scheduled.
In my case, I have an order placed with Chapman in Philly -- and while there is no guarantee it will be built, I'm in D at the moment, and received "the email" (as others refer to it as) from FCA that it is estimated to be delivered on Nov 6th, 2021. FCA Chat also confirmed it's in the parts gathering stage. So it's possible that allocations may not matter and that FCA will just take the money if the customer is willing to spend it.
Again though, its not a guarantee until it goes to D1. Who knows.
Ohh interesting ! Yeah that makes a lot more sense.I guess what I meant was those dealers that were given allotment in the beginning were able to order more than they were allocated and they were picked up. I’m in a similar situation. I got my VON instantly and hit Jeep chat the next day for the VIN. I never got an email. One person who ordered a day before me got an estimated date of delivery and so did one who ordered after me.Well, I pulled the trigger on this and ordered a non-allocated unit. I guess if it is meant to be, it will be. Ordered Saturday but have not got any email from jeep and have not received a VON from dealer yet- how fast do those typically come? I thought same day based on a couple posts I have seen?
Yep, already impatient and I have only made it 30 hours since ordering. ?
This just seems crazy to me. Any small business that ran like this would be OUT of business in a heartbeat. Guess this is what you sign up for when you order a jeep, the vehicle is exciting enough to get us all to put up with it.I’m in a similar situation. Eh, I don't think the typical customer (i.e., 90%+) even knows you can "order" a jeep. My guess is FCA views this is a pretty unimportant feature and thus doesn't prioritize it's improvement. This just seems crazy to me.
