I recently had an electrical issue (probably my fault), and my Jeep was at the dealership while they identified it. I picked it back up and noticed this plastic piece sitting in the floorboard behind the passenger seat. Does anyone have a clue as to what it's for?

Upon further review, it actually wasn't a part of the cabin filter assembly. It's a cover to a wiring harness that's next to the rear passenger-side seat. I'm glad I figured that out, because going topless could have messed something up if it rained.

It’s good to know that your dealer did a thorough job putting things back together. Gives me great confidence finding important parts laying around.

I found the same part after the dealer worked on an electrical problem. Can you tell me exactly where this goes? What carpet or trim do I need to remove to find it?

It’s not an important piece and can safely be tossed.

I could tell you, but then....
No repair is ever considered successful unless you have parts leftover.

Just look for some exposed wiring. In saying that, I doubt this part is much more than cosmetic anyway.

I'm travelling right now but I'll take a look on mine tomorrow to see if I can figure it out.

Did you ever find it? Took delivery of a 392 yesterday and this was sitting in the back. I’m not seeing anything exposed in proximity of the rear passenger seat area.
