I had taken my carpet out a long time ago and just now decided to put them back.
After I was done I noticed this little guy and I don't see anywhere to plug him in. Not sure if it was already disconnected or if I did it when I was shoving the carpet back in. I wasn't exactly easy on it.
I have heated seats, but they seem to be working fine. It's an 80th anniversary edition and doesn't have USB or power to the back seat center console. Hoping thats what it is, but I have no idea.
This is under the drivers side seat, picture is taken from behind the seat

Found a few other threads about that plug without many answers. One person said their dealer told them it was a diagnostics plug that was supposed to be left unconnected..

From other photos and videos I've found, it looks like most JL/JT driver's seats only have 2 wiring harnesses that need to be connected - a 2-wire yellow plug that's tied into the airbag system, and a larger black multi-wire plug for everything else (seatbelt sensor, heated seats, etc).

Oddly enough, it doesn't look like every JL has a random loose connector like that, so really not sure why it would be a diagnostics port if it wasn't on every vehicle in that same location ?‍♂
