Jeep Wrangler JL Bumper Stains 20190622_162305
There are some stains on my plastic bumper directly underneath spare tire. Tried washing the stains off but no luck. Wondering if the tire was sprayed with some sort of protectant at the factory and there was some dripping. Does anyone else have these stains?

Oh well, I'll use this as an excuse to shop for an aftermarket bumper! :)

U sure that should be used on plastic? Won’t that create more scratches? I thought scratch x uses microabrasives to essentially strip out a light scratch. When I use on my paint, I have to apply wax to the treated area to restore the shine. I would assume on plastic it might create more of a mess no?

You may be right, on my JK Sahara the middle section of the bumper was painted plastic.

On my JL it’s unpainted plastic.

Do NOT use a compound on the plastic part or the metal bumper. It’ll turn white. What you need to do is get some cleaner in there and scrub. APC or strong soap and clean it thoroughly and rinse. Then use some type of protectant on there like 303 or I use Carpro Reload on all my plastics as a sealant.

Try dawn dish washing soap it might remove the stains and won't damage the paint surface . Just saying !

Been there done that 1000 times, one of those household brushes that are in the shape of an iron with the firm bristles will get it out, wet it and brush in a circular pattern, the brush will get into all of the texture of the plastic.
Keep it wet the whole time, sometimes it has to be done more than once but I've never had a stain that looked like those that wouldnt come out.

I've been using 303 on all the outside plastics pretty regularly, and I've had no issues so far. Stuff is awesome!

It’s great stuff. I like Reload because I don’t have to be careful with it getting on the paint, cause I put in on there too! Also, use Beadmaker every car wash on all the surfaces.

I'll have to try the dish detergent. Slightly off topic, I found a video where car wax stains on the plastic are removed by rubbing a "big ass" pencil eraser on them.

I tried it and it worked well. : - )
