Tire stains on pants

It was actually a serious post….
I’m in my early 20’s and just bought my JL a few months ago. It’s my main source of transportation and I paid for 100% of it on my own so yes for now it is wheeled very lightly and I wash it regularly. Sorry for my yuppie post, I just wanted some advice.

Don’t worry, roughly same age here and I actually clicked on your post because I just wrecked my 4th pair of pants this week on my tires. ?

I was gifted a few months of a car wash subscription for my birthday and they apply tire shine automatically. Never used it on my own so I had no idea where the black marks on my pants kept coming from until today when I caught myself in the act! Tight city parking doesn’t help!

I like the dawn dish soap idea. Maybe I can bring a couple pair back from the dead!

@BlueBallz Haven't finished washing some khaki colored Birddogs (similar material to lulu if you're unfamiliar), but treated them with dawn dish soap and scratched for about 30 seconds and almost all of the tire grease has come out.

Highly recommend giving it a shot! Some of those stains have been washed and dried already, too!

Never thought I would go to a Jeep forum and get laundry advice! ?

You might also try the new Dawn Powerwash soap. It cleans grease much faster than regular Dawn.

The idea to use mineral spirits also works on natural fabrics.

Just be thankful the newer jeeps have a better door latch striker. My old YJ had a pin sticking on the tub instead of the closed loop in the TJ onward. I ruined so many jeans getting a belt loop stuck on that when hopping out.
