Bronco fad?

This YouTuber had his Bronco steering rack freeze overnight while snow camping in Idaho. He could not turn the wheels and had to get a big propane burner to melt the ice and free up his steering. He has a mod to fix a weak steering component, not sure if the mod was the problem or if a stock Bronco would have had the same issue. Several Wranglers with him had no such issue.
I do like his channel for some excellent video quality, despite his questionable choice of vehicle.

I was intrigued by Bronco when Ford first revealed it. But after years of waiting, supplier issues, quality gaffes, dealer games, I moved on.

I looked at Bronco closely a couple times after I bought my JL. It didn’t do anything for me: the swaths of cheap plastics, the wobbly side windows, the poorly fitting soft top, the generic interior, etc.

It still doesn’t do anything for me.

At first I thought oh well people are just being pretty fordaphobic but I've seen enough lifted ones failing where stock Jeeps bugger on. They're like my wife's Subaru, maybe it'll make it, probably rip something off, at least if I rip my Jeeps fender off I've learned when the garbage truck took my JKs off it's a cheap fix. They look nice, probably more comfy from what I've heard.

It was because of an aftermarket part. I read online afterwards (who knows if it’s true), buddy got it installed wrong and missed a clamp that would’ve prevented or helped prevent it

I have had both, a jlrd and a Wildtrak and have owned jeeps for 20+ years. they both are very similar, but different in their own ways. I think they both ride pretty similar.

Bronco a little nice handling (not enough to be like oh man this is amazing). Bronco softer ride, jeep more planted and firm.

The diesel hands down, freaking awesome. The 8 speed hands down way better. I came from driving standard for 17 years

Interior space goes to bronco. Bronco for taking the things that aren’t great on the jeep and improving them, this is the small things- doors fitting in the back, mirrors on the body, fenders that come off with a couple of twist locks (instead of pulling them off). Seats. Tech if that’s your thing very similar, except the 360 cameras in the bronco are amazing to have. Jeep should do it

Winter conditions yet to be tested by the bronco. The sport mode in the bronco is fun. Jeep is quieter with the tops and road noise. Sound system I think jeep. Better top options for the jeep. Interior 100% jeep, bronco scratches like no tomorrow, and I had a 07 wrangler which was all plastic. Cargo space bronco. Off-roading depends what you’re doing.

The jeep wouldn’t be as good as it is now without the bronco, no questions there. Will the jeep outlive the bronco, probably. Are they both awesome, yup. Are they both niche vehicles that could die down in popularity, yup.

When the original EB came out it was well known that the Ford design team was aiming to make their own version of the Scout. So it makes sense that even to this day it's pretty similar to the Scout 800.

Is anyone else starting to think that the Bronco was a big hit but has turned into a short lived fad? When they came out everyone went crazy and were scooping them up as fast as they could. I have two friends that waited 2 years for their order to arrive. Since then they’ve both sold them. I just don’t hear too much buzz over the Broncos anymore. Is it just me?

Yeah I can't remember where I read that, but I thought it wasn't a positive spin on electric vehicles. The electric company where I live is bad enough for rate increases and I don't want to see what it would cost for an electric vehicle.

That's apples and oranges. The rate of a particular utility doesn't change how long a battery will last, just like a combustion engines didn't suddenly start to crap out in 2009 just because gas prices were so high.
