What can you do for us? For instance can you expedite radios, get us new units instead of refurbished ones, guarantee that this will be covered under warranty in the future?

Great question! We have the ability to escalate cases on behalf of our customers so that they are assigned a specialist to work alongside their dealer, ensuring that their situation receives the proper level of attention. Our team serves as an additional voice for you, should any questions or concerns arise during the repair process. For example, if you run into part delays, we will do our best to coordinate movement behind-the-scenes and expedite the process. Additionally, if there is ever a lack of communication, our team can personally reach out to your Case Specialist to bridge those communication gaps. Since we work directly with engineering and our brand teams, we develop reports surrounding potential vehicle concerns and pass this information along to the appropriate individuals.

I hope that provides some clarification!

I'm sure everyone here would appreciate not having to wait for over a month on a replacement (refurbished) radio.

Or having the radio brick itself during an update. I've postponed mine for over a month now. I'm glad jeepcares is involved in this, would be nice if they gave us the ability to not update at all or reverse it if it fails. When my jeep gets out of warranty in 5 months, I'll probably be pretty irked if an update destroys my radio

FWIW, I am out of warranty and my replacement is getting installed at no charge, tomorrow (yay!) UConnect and my dealer were very good to work with.

Obviously this situation sucks and I’ve had no radio for 4 weeks… can’t wait to be back in business.

Thats good they replaced it outside of warranty. I work at a Jeep dealer but that doesnt really give me any more pull than anyone else though

I don’t think anyone would get pushback. The process was easy, albeit frustrating (especially waiting 4 weeks for a new unit).

I just picked up my Jeep and Fitzpatrick’s did a great job installing the new unit. No squeaks or scratches, and this unit has a much newer software version than my original. The UI is snappier and they consolidated audio apps into a new “media” button. Cool.

I’ve only driven it home from the dealership, but everything is working including backup lines and Sirius/XM.

This makes me happy to hear. So far my experience with Uconnect has been comically poor. The more people I talk to, the more I realize that Uconnect is pretty much useless -- but I'd still like it to work correctly.

I have to say, so far, if I had known -- I would have done that aftermarket 10" with Stinger package I've been reading about. I've wasted hours and hours trying to get something work and it doesn't seem like anyone at Uconnect (or anywhere else) really cares.

To play Devil’s advocate, people don’t flock to the internet to say how much they like something. I have three vehicles from three different companies (Honda, GMC, Jeep). All have fancy touch screen infotainment systems, and each have their bugs and quirks. I like UConnect best of the three… well, except the bricked update part. (The other makers don’t offer any updates at all, though, so…)

Anyway, I’m hoping that my new unit proves to be reliable. I’m now on version 34.5, which is at least three major versions newer than what I had.

Hopefully I have the same positive experience!

For the record, I review things that I like with praise just as often as I state negatives...
However, you are correct -- most people just like to bitch. LOL.

The majority of cars have systems that use Blackberry QNX, which is what the 8.4 runs on. Ford also uses QNX as well but is switching to Android in MY 2023.

If you had the 430 or 730n though, you appreciate the 8.4. Those radios were extremely outdated 2007 technology, the 430 went all the way up to the 2018 JK's. The real issue is they need test updates better instead of just pushing them out so frequently.

They don't update what works.

My radio worked fine till it got an update I could not decline. Now I'm out basic functionality for over a month.

You can clear the pop up by turning the radio off and back on. I've been doing it for over a month now
