Over the past few months I have had this warning a few times. It is progressively getting to be each time I start the Jeep. Once and awhile it will light up only the drivers mirror and warning, then after a minute or so the passenger mirror will light up.

I read through the threads during searches and never found what the fix actually was. I understand the dealer trip may be needed. But what is the malfunction that causes the warning and failure ?
Dirt ? Sensor ? Computer issue ?
Currently I turned it off which is ok for now.

Wasn't sure which forum to put this in so I figured I would start here.

Have you checked for codes? JScan can help you there.

I believe the sensor for the blind spot warning is in the rear tail light housing.

I have not lately. It was at the dealership for AUX battery issues in May. Im now out of warranty and actually thought it could be the AUX battery starting to go. Turns out I don't think the two are related.

2018, no problem with that issue, yet. Had a car wash rip the whole tail light off. Because it has the radar and sensor in it, $1250.

Dirt is the easiest fix, so I'd start there.

Have you removed/reinstalled your doors? When I run tube doors I get an alert when I start the vehicle that blind spot monitoring is not available. If you've removed/reinstalled your doors you might have bent a pin in the wiring connector.

Its been a bit since they have been off. I have been running with doors since April and this was a intermittent issue that has now before every key cycle.

As far a dirt I was it every few weeks and is garage kept.
I once thought water was getting into the light.

Not a cheap item which doesn't surprise me.

There are a few sensors in the rear bumper (and maybe in the taillights?). Those bumper sensors can become loose, misaligned, or simply get too dirty. Touch them all to see if they're loose or not level with the metal of the bumper.

My plan is to come on here and gather as much as I could on what to look for and tackle the issue next weekend.

Mine goes off quite often. I've never really tracked down the issue but it drives me nuts. In fact it happened yesterday. Restarting the jeep usually makes it go away, but I wish there was a way I could permanently delete this feature.

I had the same issue not long after I got my Jeep. I had taken the doors off and put them back on and started having the issue. It's hard to see, but inside the front door wiring harness, the pins can get bent and cause the issue. I used a small screwdriver to straighten back out and fixed my problem. I've had this happen a couple of times, but this has been my fix every time.

Typically happens for me when I start the car in the garage and objects are too close to my Jeep. I will pull out of garage and then turn off/on the Jeep and it clears the issue.

Point of reference for you. My 2018 lit up the blind spot triangles from day one. Worked with the dealer to no avail ... not his fault. I pulled the tail lights and checked for dust/dirt ... nothing. There was/is no common situation for them to light up. Sometimes one, sometimes one and then the other, and sometimes both at the same time. Sometimes going by close walls and sometimes out on the flats. We learned to make a joke about the Jeep officially becoming scared on the trail and then turned off the feature for the rest of the day. Took my 2023 out for it's maiden trail a few weeks ago ... yep, same thing. Best advice is to learn to live with it and turn it off when off-road.

BTW ... on the highway, small low slung vehicles could sneak by without lighting up the triangles on my 2018 with 35" tires and a 2.5" lift. My 2023 has 37" tires and a 2.5" lift ... it picks up the little vehicles when they pass. So, FCA did make at least one improvement.

In my settings I just turned it off for the time being.

Currently I'm on 2.5 inch cheap lift with 37" tires. I have often wondered if the spare and its size had anything to do with it. This was never a problem in the 2.5 years prior to lift and tires.
