Hello All,

I have a 2018 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 4-Door,
I recently got it used with one owner. Since getting the Jeep it has been a dream come true. However, there seems to be a error with my Blind Spot Detectors. The keep triggering on the road when nothing is next to me. So I took it in to my local Jeep dealership. The first time I took it. The said that there was not issues or errors and they were not able to recreate the issue. Note, I had all turned off the car and it seems the error reset, and erased. The second time it the error came up I was able to had straight to the dealership with the car on. They were able to pull up a error code, and it was for a sensor number nine. They had it a week. And claimed to have fixed the issues. That same day I pick up the jeep the error happened. The manager told asked me where the issue was happening and what I was doing, and what my surroundings look like. I told him that I was getting the issues in specific areas, and with nothing and no one next to me. I also told him the I thought there is a shortage in the line or something. He told me that is seem to happening in areas where the signal is weak. Based on what I told him. Saying that the Uconnect goes in to dead zones and that is why the error happens. Does anyone know how to fix this issue? It can’t really be a Uconnect issues since people take Jeeps in to the mountains and trails where I am sure many dead zones are. And this issue would have been fixed by now.

I disabled my Blind Spot Detection because I was tired of it flaking out once a week. I don't need it anyway and it is one less sensor to go mental on me.

It has NOTHING to do with Bluetooth.

My Sahara did it whenever I got off-road and engaged 4H. Everything went back to normal after I hit the pavement, engaged out of 4WD, and restarted the vehicle.

Sounds like you got one of them lying Jeep dealers.

Sensor number nine? There are two sensors, one in each tail light.

Mine does this most times I leave the pavement. Nothing to do with U Connect, dealer just made that part up to get rid of you.
Same here but it seems to take a couple hours and it usually resolves itself when I turn it off and back on. Initially I thought it was the constant trees I was going through being too close to the sensors but It did it to me last week on pavement.
Curious what is going on.

The sensor numbering might include the forward collision avoidance and the backup sensors. I believe there are four of those on the rear bumper alone.

It usually takes 15min to an hour to get disabled. Anything close like trees or cliffs can do it. Driving across dry lake bed can as well. I think anything that doesn't look like a normal road behavior gets the software to give up.

There are a few mountain roads I drive up that within a few yards give or take, I can predict when the yellow triangle will light up on one mirror followed by the other just up the road. Once that happens, the system gives me the 'sensors blocked' error. The first time I assumed they were covered in mud, but it happens like clockwork, so I stopped worrying about it. Now, if it's happening on pavement, that may be a different story...

I have the same problem, but when I leave the pavement. Some time after I leave — maybe 30min or something — it will give this error. Restart fixes it. Since it seems associated with leaving pavement, I just ignore it now.

It happens on pavement, roughly in the same area, every day just about. Since I use that road to get to work. It a new road about three or four years but it is a five line road two per, with a middle lane. Just it is all farm land in that area, for about a mile and half between the state highway, and a small town.

Yeah I did that for a short time but I think since my old car had them I rely on them a bit more.

Maybe, but I don’t have this issue on the beach, only in a few areas on pavement. And there’s nothing next to me clear space. On a five lane road.

Yeah, I might, but I would like this issue to be fixed. Thought thanks to everyone I am able to see it is not small issue. However, I am still on pavement, and only using 2H since that the normal for street driving.

Well mine has the two tail light ones and the four on the back bumper. But that is what the computer pulled up. And I saw it. When he connected the OBD scanner to his computer to check the codes. That was the error that popped up. And that is what they claimed to have fixed. But the sensor still messes up. And just like someone else hear stated, one will go off like if someone is there, then shortly after the other one will, then the car dings and the screen show the image I have posted.
