Than he’d go on to try and and make it sound like he wasn’t the instigator by saying something about pigs and dirt.
That and he was almost always wrong about what he was interjecting himself into.

It's typically some computer procedure that calls itself, like if figuring out 5 factorial (i.e. 5!, i.e. 5X4X3X2=120) Maybe you know that. In this case it refers to aspects, IMHO, of this thread itself being a prime example of the very thing the thread seeks to identify.

Back when I was doing software development for IBM (pre-Internet) they had their own system to look up definitions. They had so many internal acronyms that they needed a system to keep track of that and other associated terms

Words have multiple definitions any more than the one you've come up with is merely descriptive, not judgemental, like Caucasian--unless that word offends you too.

Let's see if you can grasp this. Clinical medical texts the word over, in their non-judgmental description of the physical characteristics of people with Down's Syndrome, detail the commonality of their Mongoloid features, not that (now read this twice) people of Mongoloid extraction are lacking in intelligence. People with Down's Syndrome simply do often present with facial features not unlike those indigenous to (wait for it) people of East and Southeast Asia and the Artic region of North America. This is not to cast judgment on anyone's physical appearance.

Of course the clinical litmus test for diagnosis is the presence of three #21 chromosomes, but the impetuous to effect such test, to get these people the help with medical problems their syndrome often presents, is to first rule in or out the justification for chromosomal testing by observing features about them that can be detected with the 5 senses.

Bigotry's twin cousin is stupidity. If you find such medical descriptors offensive, go take it up with them. I hope this was a learning experience for you.

The medical texts that used the term, are quite antiquated. Just because a scientific source used a term does not mean that it isn't still a racist term. Mengele, Davenport, and Laughlin wrote much on the science of genetics, that doesn't mean that it wasn't full of racism. Even trying to back up your previous statement by saying that individuals born with Downs syndrome look like the people who are from the Mongol region is quite false and makes one cringe at the comparison.
