Gotta replace the forced air handler/furnace and AC this spring. Been saving for 5 years.

Is financial timing right with tariffs, season, govt rebates, etc? Natural gas price dropping ?

Best maker?

I appreciate opinions.

Furnaces, heat pumps, dishwashers, wash machine, dryers. Repairs have increased 158%.

Along with everything else, newer furnances don't last nearly as long as the older work horses. I'll keep fixing mine no matter what the cost as long as I can still get parts for it. If I had to choose, probably American Standard or Carrier. Heat pumps, flip a coin. To my knowledge they're all made with paper thin copper lines, they generally start having problems after 10 years. The warranty is generally between 5-10 years if you're lucky. Whatever HVAC company you call is going to sell you which ever manufacturers they purchase their products from. Here's a list of a few name brands.

Bryant
Ruud
Lennox
Carrier
Trane: which is owned by American standard.
Rheem.

Best of luck my friend. I hope you saved one big pile of $$$$$. The last quote I received in 2022 was $6400 for a little 2 ton central air unit & installation. Not a heat pump, AC only. Then he tried talking me into replacing my NG furnace and said its cheaper to heat your house with electricity than NG. I picked him up by his buster browns and threw him out of my house!!!
I installed a 10000 btu window unit air conditioner for $247 back in 2012, it cools my entire house, I've been using it ever since.

We went with Trane in 2018. So far so good. It’s certainly held up in comparison to the water heater we replaced in 2020. It just needed a couple $100 in new parts.

If you have a Costco membership you might want to look into some of the agreements they have. They were the second best quote we received.
