Probably posted this earlier in this thread and apologies if so. Absolutely love my AAL Versa table... paint matched and bamboo table top. Is it worth a left testicle... probably not.

I'm leaning this way...I'll still have one testicle when done...?

good rationale!
and since we’re talking about it… it’s worth noting the tailgate table you install is on your Jeep all the time. I haven’t seen any tailgate tables posted here that are designed to be removed once you get home from your trip and aren’t using it. Not to say you can’t uninstall one and put in a new one—I have—but these are all meant to be more or less permanent.

People are different about this, but for me this means the tailgate table is in a category like aux lights or winch that stay on the Jeep all the time. Things you live with and don’t just get unloaded back onto a shelf when you get back from a trip.

Happy with my my Front Runner. Painted the board red to match my Jeep and attached a molle panel to the back of it:

Where'd you source the MOLLE panel? There's a wide variety on Amazon, but many are larger than yours, which is the size I'd like for my Front Runner table. TIA.

+1 for Outback Adventure. It's sturdy, quiet, easy to clean and the lower pullout nearly doubles your work space. I recently had to replace my JL and therefore my accessories moved to the new vehicle. Pulling the plastic blind nuts out was difficult and I messed many of them up. I contacted Outback and they mailed me a new set of hardware. Great product and customer service.

What tailgate reinforcement are you using here to feel comfy putting the cooler up there?

That setup actually didn’t have a reinforcement. My new JL does, but not because I had any issues previously.

This thread has been gold for me — just ordered the Goose Gear. They quote an 8-week lead time on the website, is that about how long it took everyone here?

Deciding factors for me were the build quality, install ease (no drill), and the one-touch operation.

One touch operation? There are clips on either side, so I'm not sure how that could be one touch.

Note that mine was silent until I had to take it off (for something else) and reinstalled it. Then it developed a rattle that requires a shim between the bamboo and metal. Goose Gear said that that's normal and to basically get over it.

I meant one hand, and that’s just based on reviews in this thread, I’ve never seen one in person. I’m going likely beat the hell out of it, so I’m not opposed to shimming a rattle down the road.

Just to throw this idea into the mix, a while back I made a cargo enclosure out of wood to split this area's height for more efficient storage of gear. It has two vertical members and a horizontal top that flips up (after I move the cargo cover out of the way) in case I'm hauling something tall.

I eventually built pieces to extend it into the cab when the back seats of my JLU are down, even to work as a sleeping platform.

Anyway, more to point, when the Bronco was introduced I thought its tailgate table that slides out from the cargo area was ingenious

and with my cargo box already built, I installed heavy duty sliders on the vertical members to recreate this.

Yeah, you can just use one hand if you had to, but it's much easier with two since the levers are on either side.

I noticed mine developed a small rattle when I moved from the humidity of Dallas to Utah. I assumed the bamboo shrank or something.

That's what Goose Gear postulated. They make good stuff, but I don't exactly like how they responded to my issue.

Mine arrived yesterday, bolted it on this morning. Build quality and packaging were top notch, instructions were easy and this thing went on in 15 minutes.

It’s humid as hell in Austin, so I’m trusting my bamboo will soak it up. We’re heading to Colorado next week, so will be interesting to see if it I have any shrinkage In the dry air.
