We just put on a set of 37" Patagonia M/Ts on KMC XD231 Beadlocks our Red Rocket Rubicon JLU with NO LIFT.

The XD231 beadlocks have an "official" backspace of 3-3/4", I measured these out at 3-5/8".

They clear when steering lock to lock, nothing close enough to worry about. 35s would be even better.

There's a lot of bumping and rubbing just driving on the street, so you definitely need a lift to run 37s on the street or trail, but as far as steering is concerned, no issues with the 37s on these KMC beadlocks with the 3-3/4.

Vids and more pics to come on a Northridge4x4 post.
Tim,

When is your article coming out on the Rubi axles and where can we find it when it is released?

Unfortunately still collecting data, a couple big events really messed us up timing wise.

So the Mopar beadlocks with 4.4BS 12mm offset should work on mine with the 2" lift? I am no wheel expert and just want to make sure they will work.....my dealer accessory department said they won't fit without a spacer. Thanks for any help

Dang it, typed out the wrong measurement in my post above. The backspace on the KMC XD231s measured out 4-5/8", not 3-5/8".

Above post is edited, here's a pic for clarity.

I was told that the Mopar Beadlocks need spacers on the JL.. is that true?
I would like to know this as well. I am scheduled for the Mopar 2" lift, and Mopar Beadlocks with 35X12.50's next week. Will the Mopar 2" lift not work in conjunction with the Beadlock wheels without a spacer? This could be a big problem for me as the dealer is powder coating the Bead ring as we speak.
That's the exact setup I'm looking at. If anyone has tried this I'd like to hear your results. If not, looks like you're first Paul. I'm still a few weeks from delivery. Let me know how it goes. Especially when you get a chance to get it off-road and flex a bit.

Lift and Mopar bead locks going on at 8:00am tomorrow morning sharp! From everything I have read, researched, discussed with Jeep experts, and even discussed with my dealer, the bead locks DO NOT need spacers. Of course, I will soon be able to validate with pictures soon to follow.

Before you go buy the Mopar beadlock's, I recommend reading this very long and painful thread about other people's experiences. I started the thread... and they looked really good, but I will not be buying them again for my JL
http://www.wranglerforum.com/f274/new-mopar-beadlock-wheels-1212137.html

Also be mindful that beadlocks are not DoT legal... that means NO ONE will help you with them. You get a nail... you want them balanced... you want them rotated... only a specialty offroad shop will help you or you need to be willing to do it yourself. Only hardcore offroaders should be looking at beadlocks, they are NOT for the casual Jeeper.

Zoobie - I read all 23 pages of that thread and I am still excited to have the Mopar Beadlocks on my Rubi. Perhaps if you had read the entire thread, you would see that there is NOTHING illegal about using the wheel on the street despite that it may not have DOT approval. Reference this article: http://www.liftlaws.com/are_beadlocks_street_legal.htm

While getting a nail may be one thing (beadlocks will take much longer to de-mount/mount because of the 25 bolts in the trim ring, it DOES NOT mean that tire shops will not touch them. They may charge a little more. As for balancing or rotating, I think 99% of tire shops that I am familiar with will have NO problem.

I'm no stranger to running beadlocks. I had AEV beadlocks on my last JK. After torquing the bolts properly during the install, I had to do it one more time at about 300 miles. From then on, the beadlocks required absolutely NO maintenance. I'm not getting them for the "look" as perhaps some people are, but for rock crawling, but I have NO ISSUE with running them on the street.

Hey Paul! Saw the pics you posted in another thread. Now that the install is finished, can you confirm no spacers were needed? And have you had a chance to put it to the test to see if any rubbing is possible under full flex/turns?

Thanks! Great looking Jeep! Can't wait to see the red beadlocks.

No rubbing whatsoever! LOVE the bead locks, and it looks even better in person.
