So I got the ball joint deletes from American Iron, installed on the 18th. Turns out it’s more complicated than just replacing ball joints. Took the steering and suspension speciality shop 6 hours to install (but to their credit they honoured the 4 hour estimate). First thing I noticed is steering wheel wobble immediately gone. They wanted me to do some driving then it has to go back for re-torquing. I have some observations of the steering behaviour now but will wait until I have it post checked at the shop and drive at least 100 km before my final assessment is posted.

What made you go with this brand vs something like Dynatracs ball joints?

Definitely curious how they turn out. I heard early versions had noise issues. I’m also curious about if dirt and grime makes it’s way between the bearing itself as it doesn’t seem as sealed as dynatrac for example.

Hi I haven’t had a single squeak or other adverse concern. Knowing these are much stronger gives me some confidence when I’m backroading alone. Talked to another jeeper who replaces their aftermarket ball joints every 6 months. If that’s true - I’m especially glad for the investment. I’ll post if I encounter any issues in the next year.

How many miles do you think you have on them? Do you have the aluminum steering knuckles?

I'm also running a set of these from American Iron. Much improved over my well worn factory setup.

How long and many miles have you had it installed? Any noises?

No noise, I've had it on the jeep a little over a month but it's not a DD so I've prob got 100 miles on it. Getting ready to do a 15 hour road trip early June so I'll find out quick. It's def a very stout well made product.

I just ordered the Reid knuckles and he didn’t know what I was talking about when I asked him about the u-joint covers you have. What are they and where do you get them
