A few months ago I did the 100k I did fluid echanges, sparks and a bunch of other recommended exchanges. At that time My auto start stop wasn't working so I figured I needed new batteries. Dealership told me both were bad so they replaced both.

2 months later auto start stop isn't working and when it actually does work it works once causing the radio and dash to "glitch" out and after that it says auto start stop not ready battery charging. So took it to the dealership again. They said the main battery was bad. They replaced it. I asked about warranty cause I literally got 2 months out of a battery. So now I have no warranty cause it was replaced.

1. Can there be something else going on that they should have looked at.
2. I never had a battery go bad in any truck I ever owned. Maybe just luck.
3. Is that a typical battery warranty cause I never had. this experience.
4. I called jeep wave. they said that was the policy. they said up to dealership if it happens again if they will help out. dealership said it is a jeep/mopar thing so they have nothing to do with it. typical everyone put their hands up and waves not my fault. i get it. Best part of the conversation. The service manager goes, after I said pretty crappy a battery went bad in 2 months. . . "It's a jeep". . . My response. . . "That's the most intelligent thing you can say. . ."

This just seems like a pretty crappy, my bad luck kinda situation. Any advice from you all would be appreciated as always.

Thanks,
Jim

My last battery wasn’t mopar and I had zero issues. The dealership that I bought the jeep at actually had me not do a mopar one.
So for future reference do you guys just go anywhere for batteries if you don’t do them on your own? The aux battery doesn’t have to be mopar either technically correct? I got to get the frig away from dealerships but I really don’t know any other place to trust in my area. I don’t want to go to a Jack Williams or other local franchised place.

Stop going to dealers for batteries. Get a high quality H7, do the bypass and call it a day.

Northstar X2 , now battery plus I think gets my vote.

having said that, I changed my 4Xe 12v to northstart and it died in a week, just sitting in the garage (actually, I didnt even connect it). I think it was a DOA.

I had the OEM sit in the garage for 4 years , trickle charging it here and there. Last week when I sold my RAM, i took the other X2 thats been going strong for 6 years and replaced it with the Jeep OEM crap. it ran well, so that particular OEM crap wasnt crap after all.

My vehicles sits for weeks on end, I do have a trickle charger that I use sometimes, but they X2's are generally great.

Similar problems on a 2021 Willys 2.0T. Bought used in 2024 with 26,000 Miles. ESS never worked. Dealer charged batts on 30 day punch list. ESS worked for 1 day then done. Figured it was the AUX but everything else was good. Only driven maybe 12 Miles a day. Fast FWD 9 mo later. Engine meltdown. Total replacement after 8 weeks of waiting. All covered by powertrain warranty. 6 mo later ESS CEL with service message for ESS. Dealer said AUX batt was done. I had both main and aux replaced. Figured I was good for 4 more years. Dealer is covering the batts for 1 year.

So your dealer is not doing you right by not covering the new BATT. However I now have a new problem. 1 day after batt replacement, CEL continues to come back with ESS service message. for the last 3 weeks they have been chasing the CEL. Tried swapping cam sensors per the CODE, even replaced the cam sensors and drove 25 miles with no CEL coming back. I picked it up last WED and 2 miles later.....CEL is back. Now they are claiming bad wiring???? Really, still only 28,000 miles......

I understand your frustration but cannot offer a solution. I would push back on them for not covering the BATT replacement tho...

the new battery has a 2-3 year warranty, idk what they were talking about. just keep the receipt

but for it to fail that quick i wouldnt be surprised if something was left loose/theres some drain
