2020 Unlimited Sport with 2.0. I replaced the battery recently and the "service airbag" warning is on. (Full disclosure, I bypassed the aux battery several months earlier with no issues) The most I can find is it is due to the voltage drop after disconnecting the battery. I was hoping to clear it myself and with many recommendations from many Jeep owners, got the OBDLinkMX+ and the bypass cable for the security gateway. It doesn't even recognize there is an error code. I assume this is an advanced code that it cannot read? Do I really have to take it to a dealership and spend hundreds to have the code reset? Damn, I really miss our no-frills Jeeps from the past!!

I have not experienced this situation myself but from past posts, it appears pretty common. The airbag module senses low/no voltage situations and alerts.

Few options:

some have reported that the airbag light goes off after a certain number of ignition cycles; something around 25 cycles seems to do it

use a generic code reader to scan for and clear codes; they are very cheap but have limited capabilities

use Jeep-specific software - I have JScan - to read and clear the codes and use it afterwards for a whole host of things

my last choice would be to bring the Jeep to the dealer and pay him to do what you can easily do yourself for a lot less money

use something

Scanned my Jeep a while back with a generic scanner and got no codes. I then scanned again with JScan and 6 codes popped up. You have the expensive part (OBDLinkMX+). Just download JScan and buy a license for your Jeep, I believe $30, and your good to go.
