I put new aftermarket seats in my 2019 Wrangler JL. Got a check engine and airbag light now. I tried using resisters to hack the sensor. That didn’t turn off the warning lights. Got codes B0020-13 (left side seat deployment squib 1-circuit open) and U0154-00 (lost communication with occupant classification module).

I don’t care if the airbags work or not, but I want the warning lights OFF. HELP

Thanks, Rick

Remove the factory airbags and sensors, plug them in. It’s not as simple as resistance, unfortunately.

Thanks but the new seats don’t have airbags to remove like the original seats. The original wiring harness is plugged in under the new seats. The plug connector (part of the harness) that was plugged into the original seats has nothing to plug into. This is where you place a resistor so the computer thinks it’s plugged into the seat. There are several YouTube videos with successful results doing this. Unfortunately, it’s not working for me. ?

I am going to go ahead and stop giving advice related to removing air bags. Good luck with this. I think it is a horrible idea.

Your airbags aren't functional. You removed the occupant detection sensor from the passenger side. You removed the side impact air bags. You probably damaged wiring in the process. Something you did really pissed off the occupant classification module. I'm not even sure where that one is located. Is it bolted to the bottom of your factory seat?

I was wondering if you ever got the light off? If so what ohm did you use? I’m currently in the same situation.
unlike the other commenters on this post I completely understand what you did, and why. I could care less about a seat airbag
