Back storage ideas

I am doing some trips this summer (car camping mixed with resorts) and am trying to organize the back storage area. I need to keep the back seat intact for our daughter and dog. I was looking for a shelf kit that is easily removable. and sits 6 to 8 off the deck so I can slide some items underneath it. I was looking at drawer kits but assume those are permanently mounted, plus I am not sure I want to shell out that kind of cash for something that is not used that often.

I was thinking of making the shelf below in the photo out a lightweight hardwood but was wondering if anyone else had ideas or if there was something out there that was similar. I was also thinking I would zip tie it to the built in loops.

I also like the shelf ideas as I can fit chairs under it for for soccer games.

@AZ Hella yeah I did see this thread and it has some awesome homemade ideas in it but was also curious if there was something already out on the market. Perhaps this should've be a follow up in that thread.

Hi! Yes we have similar cargo drawer or shelf (adjustable height in a minute with ease – no screwdriver! Simple uninstall for tall items care). Both fits into stock locations. No drilling.

I really like having a shelf. It's the one thing that is vital to my setup. I also have the XG Cargo bags and Sidestasher bags. Tons of storage.

I made some brackets and hinges for a back storage rack/shelf to store stuff up high. Stay out of sight and doesn't obstruct rear view. My best mod yet.

Made using 3/4” Birch plywood. Easily lift it out when needed.

It's definitely much tighter and not ideal, but I basically use them for camping, but it's doable. Extra clothes, shoes, etc.
