working on building up a map for hitting crown king, Upper and Lower terminator, and telegraph line BOH trails. in the near future. has anyone ran the terminator trails? or camped in any of these areas? I am trying to figure out timing, fuel stops, and camping spots that will be nice and quite. Not Sure when this trip will happen but hoping before end of year

I live in Phoenix and have run Crown King numerous times as well as both Terminators. Suggest you run Crown King before it snows unless you like mud. Trail is dicey after the waterfall. Terminators are desert rock crawling, most challenges with a few lines. You'll want a spotter. If you have time, I Suggest you do Broken Arrow in Sedona...awesome views and alot of fun, but very busy unless you go early. Cand also do Schnebly Hill Rd for another Badge. Have fun!

Tons of camping near Telegraph near the trail head on Bartlett Lake or on the other side. Check backway to Sheep's Bridge for a few great riverside spots and a few fun miles added to Telegraph. Backway to Crown King has camping near the trailhead as well around Lake Pleasant, the end of will be much higher elevation so expect much colder temps but still some great camping in reach of an old saloon.

I camped out at Lake Pleasant when I did CK. It's a bit expensive for what it is but I wanted access to a hot shower.

Telegraph has camping near the trailhead also but there's no gas stations around there so make sure you get gas before you leave town.

Thanks for the insight on the snow/water on CK. I’ve done most the trails in Sedona over the last few years. Just trying to knock out a couple new badges. For the year.

I don’t kind cold camping. Nothing better than getting in the zero degree bag for a snooze! Some of my Best nights sleep was on Mount Whitney with snow under us

Good point. Fill up before backway to CK and take extra gas. There may not be gas in Crown King or for 30 or so miles after.

Here’s a couple of screenshots of the route that we took doing the Telegraph trail. We did the aqua colored trail after Telegraph, and spent the night where the purple waypoint is. Headed over to CK the next morning. We met up at 3:00 pm in Desert Hills, finished Telegraph around 5:45 pm, and then started that aqua colored trail until we found a good camping spot around 8 pm.

Much appreciated. I’ll compare to the map to what I have and I’ll mark out the camping area. Thanks!
