I am moving from San Diego, CA to Connecticut this September. Looking to hit as many of the badges in the southwest and midwest as I can. I plan on doing basically every trail except Gold Mountain(already done) and most of the Moab trails (planning on a future trip). These will likely take place between September 3rd and the 10th. This is most things up to Colorado springs where I will be visiting my brother and resting before the next big section and possibly driving back down to Texas :( for the southern trails.

I am currently running a Stock 2018 JLU Rubicon with a Badlands Apex 12000 Synthetic winch. I have a fair amount of tools, no high lift yet, a 20ft tow strap, 6ft circle strap, 8 ft circle strap, GSPSCN Air compressor. If there are any parts that are most likely to break I can pick those up before I go if you want to give me an idea.

I do plan on sleeping in the Jeep on a Deep Sleep 4 Jeep mattress, especially in the CO area where the bulk of the trails are.

Always down for any information or tips or anything really and if anyone is willing to do some of the trails, particularly the harder ones where a buddy might be most helpful.

Well Red Bird in Indiana can be super muddy. If it has rained in the previous 3 weeks expect to winch many time. I got stuck so bad, I hooked my winch about 10 or so feet up in a tree and picked the front tires up out of the mud and dragged the jeep out of the mud with just the rear tires touching.

Holly Oaks is a small park in Michigan and is super easy. The only reason to go there is to get the badge. Drummond Island is cool. 90% of the people that claim the badge never run the actual badge trail. The badge for Drummond is the south loop to Marblehead. Is deep with mud and in your Jeep. Plan to winch often. The rule on Drummond island is if the water/mud hole is smooth in and out, your okay . If it is rutted up going in or out find a stick and check it for depth.

Rausch Creek is awesome to wheel. Very expensive. You have to buy a one year membership and you are not allowed to wheel alone. If you are alone, you have to hire a guide. Like I said awesome to wheel at, I fucking hate their policies.

Windrock is awesome. Trail 26 easy, trail 51 more challenging. 16 is hard expect to winch and body damage or damage to the jeep in general can happen.

The trails in UWharrie in NC are great fun and the badge trails are challenging.

Peters Mill Run in Virginia is super easy. Like drive a minivan down it easy.

Bearwallw in West Virginia is an easy trail. Note they require you to wear a helmet inside of your Jeep. The trail permit was expensive too.

If you are on Stock 33 inch tires you will struggle a lot on many of these trail. You will be on your skids and frame often.

Red bird, Windrock, Drummond, have a way to clean yourself up and get the mud off you. Have gloves and boots

That is some seriously great information! Thank you, especially the helmet and Rausch Creek needing a buddy

I take fuses, vtire repair kit, including valve stem cores. I do bring shock bolts, and a spare sway bar link, and suspension bolts.

The only thing I have ever broken was a sway bar link.

Do you have a list of fuse sizes and types you take? Ever seen a kit with all or most or do you buy separately?

I bought a few kit off amazon. It has all different amp fuses in it. I have never needed it, but I would hate to be stranded because I didn't have a replacement fuse.

Mind you, wheeling smart and knowing your Jeeps capabilities and your capabilities is the most important thing to not tearing it up. I have done many multi state trips all over the US. Just finished a six month one a couple weeks ago. We wheel all over the US.

We wheel hard, but smart. You really don't have much to worry about. I think the best thing you can have is something like a taser that can reset codes and get you out of limp mode.
