I'm also up for a quick day trip to about anywhere most times. I'm retired so I can do mid week too. The Borrego desert is better this time of year than when it's 110F.

Winter time is desert time.
I’ve got two more years before I can collect full retirement and I’m looking forward to it. For now I’m still in the rat race and I’m mostly a weekend warrior. I have this month booked with church stuff but I’m looking to get out for a day trip or one nighter in February or definitely March before the desert heats up.
Maybe I’ll save up my time and make a point of the East Mojave run.
