My dealer just called me. I was expecting to call them back this Friday so I truly appreciate the communication. The reason they called is they have a few Jeeps ordered a month and a month and a half after mine that are in route for delivery PLUS they have '19 on the lot
. They acknowledge something definitely isn't right with mine being stuck in I and it's just taking too long. Sounds like the GM is going to get involved and we'll decide what we are going to do. I am not sure what is in restriction or not for ordering right now if another order has to be placed. My personal deadline for delivery is 2nd week of Jan and then I am moving on. My order is a 2 Door Rubicon, 2.0T, Auto, completely loaded except Smokers group and maybe the engine block heater but I may have ordered that. Matching hard top and fenders, Sting Gray.
My intention was to purchase the 2018 but the chaos surrounding the manufacturing and logistics with no equipped Jeeps I wanted put the stop on that so I waited until Jeep sorted out their production and logistics nightmare only to order day 1 for '19 and end up with a delayed order LOL. Fucking Jeep.
My personal take is the dealership is working on it now, they are going to try to facilitate the communication avenues which truthfully, Jeep should have a mechanism in place already with me. No this isn't Jeep Chat. I feel like for a company that pushes the Jeep lifestyle, they do a poor job getting the buyer involved from the very beginning like so many other manufacturers do so I am not upset, just a little annoyed and entertained that of course this would happen after waiting a year.
Fingers crossed but I'm neutral on this being sped or up being a disaster. We're approaching end of Nov, my ship date was Nov 3rd and 2nd week of Jan will be here soon so if it happens, great, if not I won't be surprised. I will say, if Jeep has a time line, meaning say a faulty wiring harness has caused issues with my Rubicon, they are waiting on parts its going to be end of Jan we're sure. That would be enough to keep my vested or rather invested interest.
