I've been in I since 11/9. Today they told they see three different status (ordered, I, & delivered) and asked if I talked to the dealer, which I did late last night. He was still showing I.

Talked to my dealer Friday. He said he has 15 orders in I status right now. He’s gonna look into it.

If they still have 18’s to fix then what does that mean for us? (And the people waiting for the 18’s). Since they made a mistake on the line we just have to wait it out? Seems kinda lousy.

That blows.

Just talked to Jeep chat again and for the first time they said they would escalate it and call me back.

We’ll see if they follow through.

"Escalate" is a very trivial term as used by FCA....

My case was escalated, they provided me a number and said someone would call- they didn't.
After the specified time frame I called back, they said that a representative had been assigned, but couldn't tell my their name or contact info.
Three days later I received an auto generated email from "US Customer Care" (Jeep), that was a word for word ripoff of Jeep Chats reply.

****
"Hello,
I have received the following update regarding your order:

Please be advised, there is nothing wrong with this consumers order. Production of the 2019 JLs just began earlier this month; therefore, we are still in launch mode - launch mode indicates that things are done slower at the beginning of a launch. We would encourage consumer to contact us back in 1-2 weeks for an update."

****

1. Wrangler production began last month.
2. I was told to check back in 1-2 weeks, three weeks ago.
3. Wranglers ordered from my dealership, some as much as a month after mine, have already been invoiced, with some delivered.

This is what is frustrating. Communication is horrible and down right unprofessional these days especially considering asking price fully equipped. We had a blizzard yesterday and I ordered day one after being told 6-8 weeks to receive (ship date Nov 3rd) to avoid this. Foot a snow later and here I am in I status since Nov 10th. :swear:

So what can we do? I truly believe we are owned an explanation and a reasonable estimate on time frame. I am not being whiny these are just the facts. I have reached out to Jeep on Twitter with no response. They seem more interested in resharings peoples pictures of their Jeeps (so cool though.). Honestly this is year two of epic manufacturing and logistics failures why does Jeep even take orders? Does anyone have any ideas who can be reached out too? There are pages and pages of people wanting better communication and people who have ordered that have just said f it to Jeep and canceled.

Sounds about exactly as I figured it would go.

Jeep created this problem in letting everyone think they should get an update on every step up in the process. They should never leak this information to anyone but the dealer. The customer reps should be handling problems and issues, not giving daily updates on the build process. It appears they give canned responses and thus create more frustration than is necessary. They should either do it right (and as far as I know be the only company that does it) or not do it at all. It's stupid on their part to pay people to answer phones and emails just to give canned responses.

Valid points. I'll add if they provide a ship date and this is missed, they need to provide a reason with new ship date.

Their dates so far are unrealistic They should just list TBD and tell everyone they are experiencing scheduling problems. My ship date was 11/19. The actual build sheet was 11/22. It was stupid to ever list the ship date in the first place

I complete agree on est. ship dates. I was provided an est. ship dat of 11/3 after we order 9/22. Even as mine was built and stuck in I on 11/9 one of the reps mentioned it was still showing the same. I think an est. ship date, more like a range, would not be provided until it is completely built and waiting to be loaded on a train or truck.

So a little background to add legitimacy to my gripe.

Now, this is not a primary vehicle, just a toy. I have others, and was cross-shopping vehicles that are still a possibility if this falls through; so I'm not exactly emotionally attached. This is objective.

I ordered on 9/16 with a projected delivery date of 8 weeks. The dealership was animate that this was correct as it was their experience. I specifically stated that I would be relocating for work on a date approximately 12 weeks out, and that if it took longer than that I would have to cancel the order. But, I also stated that I would have no problem waiting, and ordering when I returned.

"OH NO NO NO..!!! Definitely 8 weeks, maybe 9..! No more than 9...."

Cool, so I paid the deposit and bounced. Didn't bother them or anyone for 6 weeks.

6 weeks into in, I stopped by and all was well, "Should be built anytime". Again- no worries.

Contacted the dealership at the 8 week mark to make arrangements for pick-up when it arrived.... and that's when S**T totally fell apart.

Long story short, when queried, it was built later than sequenced, after its "ship date", and had not progressed past "Inspection". Has been in 'I" for 20 days now.

Jeep Chat= canned responses that do not make sense chronologically and were a bit condescending.

Case was "escalated", which yielded even dumber nonsensical replies from an unnamed FCA rep.

Dealer's data source couldn't determine why it was held up, with their FCA rep repeatedly failing to respond.

Dealer even stated that Wranglers ordered way after mine, with just about every option imaginable, had already been delivered (verified).

2019s with VINS sequenced after mine are now dealer stock in my area (verified).

I could go on and on, but my real concern isn't that its delayed, its that FCA has and continues to ignore both myself and my dealer. And clearly has mechanisms in place to assist in these efforts.

I notified the dealership today that even if invoiced and shipped almost immediately, it probably wasn't going to make it in time. To the sales manager's credit, I could hear his heart sink and he apologized endlessly.

On a lighter note, I would've saved money on my Jeep insurance by switching to GEICO, if...... I had it.

I think that says it in a nut shell, at least for me. I think most, while we hate having our orders delayed, could at least understand to a point if FCA would communicate with us and the dealer.
