With factory installed Aux switches, if you push one of the buttons should they light up?

I am in the process of installing an ARB twin compressor under the passenger seat and I can not seem to get the Aux switch to turn on. I've got the purple wire connected to the Aux 4 wire in the passenger footwell. I have the ground going to the factory ground point in the passenger footwell. I can not get the compressor to power up. I have selected "Latching" and "Ignition" in the menu in the radio.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
Alan

With your settings, as long as the ignition is on, the button should light up.

You can configure the aux switches to push on/off or momentary. But either way you should get power at some point. There is no "always off" option.

Use a multimeter to check if the Aux wire is getting power or not. If it is, the problem is the compressor. If not, check the Aux switch fuses & relays. They are labeled inside the engine compartment fuse box.

Also you probably know this, but just in case. If your battery voltage is low at initial start up, you will get a “Aux switches Temporarily Unavailable while Battery Charges” message. The aux switches will not work until the battery is fully charged.

Lots of good info. Thanks everyone. I will check the switches with a multimeter.

My battery voltage was low as I had not driven my Jeep for a few days and the fridge was plugged in. The fridge did shut off because of the low voltage. But no warning displayed when trying to use the switches. It is now on a battery tender so that will alleviate that possible scenario.

Thanks again. I will report back once I figure it out.

Silly question but do you have the large ARB compressor red and black wires connected to the battery?

Running a fridge (compressor fridge I assume) off the Jeep, and not firing up the Jeep for a few days?
I'm surprised that battery is not dead ?

The Dometic has a low voltage sensor that will turn the fridge off before killing the battery. That part works as advertised. :)

And you connected your ARB purple switch wire to the Aux Blue/Pink wire and not the Aux Orange/Pink wire?

I did connect it to the blue/pink wire. None of the switches are lighting up so it wouldn't matter which switch I hooked it up to.

I'll check the fuses/relays for the switches also.

I mention it because two of the wires in the Aux wire bundle under the dash are not switch wires.

I have disconnected the fridge.

Battery charger showed it was still charging.

Ok so the fuse F108 is good.

I pulled the switch and checked the plug that goes into the back of the switch with the ignition on but not running:
Brown/Wht has 12v
Red has 8v
Blk/Gry 0v
Red/Purple 12v
Brown/Red 12v
Brown/Purple 12v

I started the Jeep and checked brown/wht and was @ 14v. Red was @ 10v.

@Terrymo I did see the message “Aux switches Temporarily Unavailable while Battery Charges” . So possibly this has been the problem. I will charge battery 100% and recheck.
