Loos like my reply from work didn't go through earlier, but I had mentioned that I picked uo this stuff and a good wash kit from Autogeeks for a great price! BTW someone said it was a bad idea for black paint, especially the Mopar variety... I'm curious to know your thoughts/experience on that as a detailer?
It’s no worse on any particular color, black just shows imperfections more than any other color. Mopar paint isn’t particularly bad, all manufacturers’ paint is softer now than it was years ago due to environmental concerns. A proper 2 bucket wash is the way to go to keep swirls and light scratches from dulling your finish. Since most people can’t do that every time, a good product like ONR is a good alternative. Certainly much better than any automatic car wash.

I had that same question.. so I asked one of the guys there a couple days before I installed my lift and tires.. he said my 12.5 would fit.. and they do.. not a ton of room but they fit.. they have a mirror that you can see the front of your vehicle when you pull in.. and the tire poke of my 12.5 tires give a very good view and it's easy to guide them in.. I don't even pay attention to the guy giving hand signals cuz I can see it myself.. and I trust myself more.. lol.. I am getting the unlimited washes for winter.. I hand wash in spring, summer and fall.. but living in michigan I want the underbody and the ability to keep the salt and crap off my baby..

from experienc,, family business. NEVER take any vehicle through an automatic that use brushes- scrapes, swirls, ect. Even the cleanest places, their brushes will get dirt that stcks and that dirt gets whipped against your ride. If it is a laser wash, good to go, as nothing touches your ride. Or use the self serve and wand, but never use the brush in those bays as its just more of the same.

I have a 2015 BMW X5M with the 325/30/21 wheels/tires and have been using a similar "quality" auto car wash for the past 7yrs now in the winter. I've got two herniated discs in my lower back and will hand wash the cars when I can, but with the Chicago winters and the salt that they put down, you can't beat the 'better' car washes with the unlimited washes package for $20 a month.

The paint on my X5M is still in great condition, but I'm going to have the exterior buffed out to remove the minor car wash scratches that have accumulated over the past 7 yrs, but even with those, you couldn't tell it was taken through an auto car wash unless you were literally standing next to it with a shop light shining on it.

I've also taken my Ford Raptor through them as well and the tire fit on both have never been an issue.

I agree with everyone here that it's not the most ideal way to wash, but when you have health issues and want to keep your vehicles looking nice without letting that salt sit on them in the freezing winters, you have limited options.

Has/Does anyone take their X5M or X6M to these kind of washes that have the metal tracks that take the car through the wash? My car will have the standard 21'' Wheels. Do they stick out from the tire where it is going to damage the Rims pulling onto the tracks? I will try to hand wash as much as possible, but with my schedule, it gets difficult. I also have an annual pass to a very, very good wash where they do inside and out where I can go once per day to keep the car clean (3 kids) daily.

Thanks again, my car should be here finally tomorrow or they said latest Wednesday!
