I am the other Jeep on the East Coast... My amplifier is still not available and iafter reading your post do not have faith in the amplifier being the culprit.

There is supposedly a software update that came out last week but it can't be installed or downloaded because of some cofpocorp bull...

Can you please let me know what software version you are running on the new radio?
We have already had the amplifier replaced and it does not resolve the issue.

What is the latest software version that you are referring to and why can't it be installed yet?

I was only told that there was an update.. I do not have the number... The next time Jeep calls me back I will ask...

Hello all

I can just add to what everyone else is mentioning here... I have the same problem with my JL Sahara here in Sweden.
It happens when it is cold, but I feel it is not as "easy" as that, sometimes it happens when it is -5C and sometimes when it is +5C.
Byt the symptoms is the same as everyone else mentioned.

I have had my car for about one month, and have had the problem 8 times so far.

I spoke to my dealer and he doesn't know what to do, so I am monitoring this thread to see if anyone has a solution.

Too bad because I really like my Jeep so far.

So have 2018 JLUR with 5000 miles on it in Virginia. Have had the same issue now twice. I have noticed that I must of had a recent update since I know have the off-road pages which I didn’t have before. I also have the annoying tone/vibration problem with talk radio in from left speaker area. I have an appointment with dealer next week. Not holding breathe with what I have read

It got cold here in Dallas over the weekend so my radio started acting up again.

For me, it only happens when its cold outside. When it does get cold, If the jeep stays in the garage (where its slightly warmer) the radio is fine. The moment you drive to the store and it sits outside cold, the radio will immediately start to cut in and out when you start the engine again.

1. Radio cuts in and out when its cold
2. Radio works fine as long as the engine is not running.
3. Back up camera grid lines disappear

I'm at a loss? It's frustrating that a brand new vehicle with 6k miles does not have a functioning radio.

I guess we will keep using the portable blue tooth speaker.
We concluded earlier in the thread that it is not related to temperature or remote start.

Some ppl in Florida we're experiencing it in September, in my case I'm from Canada and it's wayyy below 0 here since a couple months. I can go 2 weeks without it occurring and then 3 days straight with the issue. It's totally random.

For me, it is temperature related. It has only happened when the temperatures started to drop here in Texas.

Updating this thread from information on the 5thGenRAM forum:

https://5thgenrams.com/community/th...-audio-for-all-sources.3822/page-4#post-82654

TSB 08-003-19, which was released on January 12 2019, addresses numerous issues, including audio cutting in/out and rear backup camera lines disappearing. This will be addressed in a uConnect update which will be pushed to systems via OTA, or via USB to those systems without the built-in modem.

No other information available at this time - but if someone is willing to dig further with that TSB number, please do so.

So this happened on December 28th, but has worked fine since then...just drove again this morning and everything works well. I'm a bit paranoid to make this post as it may jinx the audio system, but all is good for the past 15 days.
Audio system acted up yesterday. Three different start-stop modes. Then it sat for about an hour, and upon startup, all was well. I noticed that when I would turn the vehicle off all three times, and before opening the door, then the audiosystem did not do the cutout. So, it must have something to do with the engine running.

New radio was finally put in today. Hopefully it is with the software update. Time will tell. I know this didn't work for some others so maybe the software update will be the difference (optimism). The tech at my dealership thinks it's being caused by an overheat issue so not even he is fully convinced. Stay tuned. Pun intended.

Hey Trailhead - congrats on the new radio... is everything working well still? I hope so.

Was curious if your unit has a different software version from the rest of us having the issue? Is there anyway to take a picture of the software version and post it for us to compare?

Mine was gone for several days then came back this afternoon. Made a 30 minute drive very annoying. Have a dealership appt tomorrow am. Maybe they can update the software. I only started having the problems after I got the off-road pages. Wonder if it’s that update.

From the first section on this website, TSB's, etc.:
"Ok... THE OFFICIAL FIX FOR OUR RADIOS 8.4 IS TSB 08-001-19!!!

This does address multiple issues including the radio cutting out and the parking lines disappearing....

Can someone @JeepCares post the TSB so we can all see it?"

At least I now have a TSB number to discuss with the dealer tomorrow.

I had this same TSB applied a week ago and today the radio is acting up again just like before, stops working.....cuts in and out. So there you go, not a fix for me anyway. Back to the drawing board.
